USAF F-15E down! (picture)

It happened as follows:

The F-15 was flying over hostile territory and was shot down with an AA artillery (no SAM). The pilots ejected and an helicopter was sent to rescue them. A crowd of civilians approached to see/salute them, the crew panicked and opened fire. 6 killed or injured. Sad, but not surprising at all.

Injured not killed... and it wasn't the F-15 crew it was the rescue crew which opened fire.

You don't know how the plane was shot down, you'll believe what you want, as will everyone else here.

Looking at the pics, just wondering crashing due to technical/mechanical fault the landed a/c should be in one piece, but I don't see any front part of the plane. Looks as if before crashing the plane broke into pieces. I may be wrong though.

Must have landed hard nose-first or probably in a nose-dive. That could explain the missing cockpit.
But shooting down an f-15 is very hard with AA guns. It can still fly with some part of the wings missing. So I doubt that gunfire alone brought it down.
