What's new

USA is better candidate for building Pakistan's economic corridor

The time for debate on CPEC is over. It is now under construction. Once it is completed, the next step will be using it for trade. It will benefit Pakistan, China and Central Asian states. A win win situation for all concerned.

.
Usa policies only to harm Pak in whatever manner
May be but in past we messed up many things which led to our current situation. We used US funds in Afghan war but forget to tackle the mess. Its our own mistakes we should learn from past, why we airlift thousands of harcore warlords ? to make more money but again messed up everything.

.
U.S could never replace the love that is China for Pakistan and vice-versa

CPEC is the only way

Yet foreign investments are foreign investments, i believe it would be good if American companies did invest in the Free trade zones that shall be made alongwith CPEC

.
CPEC sure brings infra to Pakistan....but effectively kills the Pakistan's domestic industry....because it has to compete with more no.of Chinese products in domestic and export markets....!!

.
It looks like everybody wants to build Pakistan's Gawader port since there is a lot of money. But I guess China is already building it and it since CPEC stands for China Pakistan Economic Corridor so naturally it has to be build by Pakistan and China together. USA can build APEC

Complete rubbish. As someone who has just come back from Pakistan recently, I can confirm the ground REALITY that Chinese products, expertise and technology have in FACT helped local Pakistani industries improve greatly and bring them up to world class standards. Chinese brothers and sisters are also helping Pakistan's maufacturing capability immensely. Results of which will be seen 10-15 years from now.

Not if the americans give us their Iraq, Afghanistan or Libya style investments. Think I'll give it a miss thank you very much bro. We all know what "real american investment" looks like. Just ask the Iraqis. They'll give you a detailed analysis.

The US had decades to make the kind of investment China is making in Pakistan now. Did it do this? No of course not. So simply put it is not even a "candidate" for the level of investment China is making in Pakistan now. Dont know what this guy is going on about. When they are refusing to even sell us F-16s, who in their right mind would think their government would be willing to spend 10s of billions of dollars in Pakistan as investment.

I believe Zaidi wants to play the devils advocate here (since he is oh so wise to not fall into the Chinese trap like the rest of the mindless bufoons heading the military and civilian establishment), but his arguments lack any coherency.

US chose India as it's next strategic partner and are very clear about how or should I say who runs south Asia. Their future candidates are hedging their bets on India and for them Pakistan is a future threat that needs to be dealt with.
It's a good thing that we are preparing for CPEC but also we need to prepare ourselves for a conflict with the US because whether we like it or not we are on a course of conflict. Our interest don't match on Afghanistan we are against Indian Harmony in SA and continued to challenge it, drone strikes everytime some one is willing to talk. All these factors will make US come for us. It would also be in our interest to make sure US does not stay in Afghanistan indefinitely.
Than comes CPEC, US does not want China to have a breathing ground in case of conflict nor would it want the Chinese navy to be able to counter US with Gawadar deep sea port. All in all US will find an excuse to try and start a war. It could be to secure our nuclear weapons or some terrorist suddenly found its way to US which had help from elements in ISI but it's coming and it would be better if we prepare rather than burying our heads in the sand thinking all is well.
The writing is on the wall, its time we see it.

This article is from "the hindu" so it becomes completely invalid, null and void as far as it's articles on Pakistan is concerned. We don't need any more american interference in our nation thank you very much. The "american -Iraqi" corridor and "american- Afghanistan" corridor are great examples of success.

The words Hindu and American deliberately not given capital first letters?

How much more petty can you get? No wonder no one respects you lot.

IMO, China is the better option else there will be strings like:
  • Chinese and Iranian export could not pass.
  • Indian and TTP cargo could pass.
  • Haqani strictly not allowed to use.
  • Only American and Indian made vehicle to be used on these roads nothing else allowed.

Etc. Etc.

just the other day when same news paper said that indian missile interceptor test was a faliure most of the pakistanies i saw on PDF were saying the opposite about "The Hindu" media group .... how convinient...or say funny na :azn:
actually, one day before THAT the same paper reported the test as being successful. So all people were saying, or sensible people were saying was that how can one news article be trusted and other is not?

Secondly, i think you do understand that the difference is saying "YOU are wrong" and "I am wrong" both these statements cannot be judged on same parameters. One is an acquisition, you need proof for that, other is a confession, that is acceptable as it is. So the paper called "This Hindu" it is not difficult to see what is an acquisition and what is a confession? That said, i still stand by my words that the news about the test was must be taken with a pinch of salt, all these papers published contradicting statements on consecutive days, not sure what to believe. All i can make out of all that was a judgement about how credible the papers are.

I don't care what anyone thinks of me or my people. I know through personal experience and history that ultimately it means nothing. What I and my race do is what counts.

It's very telling that you and other indians always are very sensitive and conscious about what other people think of you and if they like you or not. I have noticed that in real life aswell. That is a genetic trait of the indian race. And as well as the physical and genetic differences, this is another major difference between the Pakistani and indian races.

Lol what has this got anything to do with race? Haha its just basic manners.

It depends to what extent and to what level. It's not an insult or an offence. Just different characteristic of the different races. One thing I have observed on PDF and with indians in real life is that you people are very eager to please the White/European peoples and to be seen in a positive light by them. indians on PDF have even used it as an insult to be disliked by White Western peoples. Members of the Pakistani race are different in that we don't care what anyone thinks of us. Neither is good or bad. Just an observation and genetic characteristic of certain races/peoples.
