There is a reason their analysts in congress were saying that this move would harm US more than Pakistan. This is not arm twisting but pebble throwing. It would have been arm twisting if we hadn't predicted such a day and embarked on a path away from US.

This will also push us more towards the Chinese camp and Russian camp with US influence falling down at a drastic level.

Along with that Pakistan may even start greater support for insurgent elements in Afghanistan and may even allow groups to attack NATO supplies containers or stop them altogether.


The analysts were saying in congress that alienating and distancing pakistan would see US influence drop which would effect the US war in Afghanistan.

Oh well. What I don't understand is that why are indians jumping in joy? These are not sanctions. They are non payment of military reimbursement based on conditions. They have lost their minda. Pathetic really is the state of our neighbors

The reality is simple. The US has lost much clout over Pakistan. For the US it is an extremely bitter pill because they were always under the impression that Pakistan would be isolated and bullied into submission. CPEC is a hard slap in the faces of our enemies. It reaffirms China's commitment to Pakistan. Something the Indians and Americans used to outrightly deny and even mock.

The Indian/American narrative has today changed from "China is only a friend of Pakistan on paper" to "the Baloch people are being oppressed" LOL Just note the desperation.
