WASHINGTON: The United States will continue cooperating with Pakistan on counterterrorism and border security, a State Department spokesperson said Wednesday, while reiterating Washington's condemnation of last month's terrorist attack in Karachi University, amid spike in such attacks across the country.

"We value our bilateral relationship. We want to continue to work together in areas where we do have mutual interests with our Pakistani partners. That includes counterterrorism. That includes border security as well, " Spokesman Ned Price said at his daily press briefing on Wednesday.

He was responding to a question whether the U.S. was reviewing the former Trump administration-imposed suspension of security aid to Islamabad following the deadly terrorist attack in Karachi, as such attacks emanating from Afghanistan continue to rise across Pakistan.

"We strongly condemned the terrorist attack against Karachi University in Pakistan. We reiterate that condemnation today. A terrorist attack anywhere is an affront to humanity everywhere," State Department Spokesperson said

"But for a terrorist attack to take place at a university or at a religious site or at some of the locations we've seen recently, that is a true affront to mankind," he said.

Following the attack, the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility. Three Chinese teachers and their Pakistani driver were killed in the attack.

USA nain khudkushi ka irada kerlia? Matlab terrorism khatam kerdia tu khaeyga kahan se?

There's a reason why everyone isn't on the same page...

Pakistan's origins is a source for this, we are all different people with different languages, ethnicities, religious sects. So everyone's loyalties and interests is stretched in different places.

Why doesn't India have the same problem? How come there's no terror there??

What did they do?

India has worse problem but their media + politicians are patriotic.

Once we get over this hurdle, good leadership and reformed system (presedential system which is incoming and a patriotic gov in form of IK) then all out problems will be solved.

You see Pakistan has had bad lesderhsip from beginning. Just solve this problem and everything else will be solved , it's not hard.

I don’t see India having brutal and bloody waves of terrorism. And continued attacks on soldiers and other places around the country.

Not happening. It’s pretty clear our leaders don’t want that.

It’s easy when you don’t have forces within the country working against you.

Of course I'm not saying that it's not challenging but at the same time it's also not that difficult

The situation currently is blessing for Pakistan. This is the closest we've come to real change. IK will come back with 2/3 majority and dissolve this parliamentary system and 18th ammendment, then real reforms begin.

Pakistan is not unnatural, its a unique special country that has been made and survived this long for a specific purpose , you will see this in the years to come.

Temporary difficulty and challenges doesn't mean we lose sight of bigger picture. Chin up and be positive because elections are coming.

Why would Pakistan army accept cooperation in border security? Or would they? I ve heard them countless times reiterating that we are fully capable of defending our borders. Didn't they want the US out?

Brother it is hot air nothing else. They couldn't care less. The last dude who actually had some sense of loyalty to a friend called Pakistan was Nixon.
Correct me if I am wrong but wasn't Ronald Reagan the most pro-Pakistani president of the United States?

. .
republicans in general have always been pro-Pakistan
The attitude of Republicans towards Pakistan changed after the disintegration of the USSR. I believe that Donald Trump was rather unique in his approach to international relations as compared to other presidents which is why the relationship between the US and Pakistan improved slightly under his presidency.

Sympathetic but not on Nixon's level, but yes Reagan was the last guard who still believed in aiding Pakistan.

How ironic, CIA is funding most of the terrorist organizations including ISIS/Daesh, TTP, BLA and multiple Baloch separatists groups.

Any US President, regardless of party, can be relied upon to help Pakistan if Pakistan can show how their respective national interests can be aligned, plain and simple. The converse is just as true where their interests clash.

Well since Our generals are already lining up at the US Check post for their green cards, I have a proposal for USA. @BidenAdminstration -- Why not convert Pakistan into the 53rd State of USA?? At least this will benefit ordinary people of Pakistan who will get US passports and get decent training and jobs. What do you say??
