US to back Pakistan's parliament policy on WOT: Boucher ​

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that the newly elected regime would devise a comprehensive strategy against scourge of terrorism and extremism by taking all political powers into confidence while debate in this respect is underway in an in-camera session of the joint Parliament.

While talking to US Assistant Secretary of State for South Asian and Central Asian Affairs Richard Boucher here at Prime Minister house on Monday, the Premier said, Islamabad was fighting a war against menace of terrorism and extremism under a comprehensive strategy and US was needed to understand a ground realities in Pakistan, reliable sources informed Online.

Issue related to war against terrorism, country's economic situation and bilateral relations between Pakistan and US were discussed in the meeting.

The Prime Minister in unequivocal terms has said that the strike of Afghanistan based allied forces in Pakistan's tribal areas is totally intolerable, adding that, we would not allow anyone to violate country's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

He also asked US to help to stop infiltration of militants in Pakistan's tribal areas from Afghanistan. Pakistan, Gilani said, has not only played a greater role in international war against terrorism but also rendered enormous sacrifices as compared to any other country of the world. Calling the tribal people very patriotic, Gilani said that the government is taking steps for their welfare.

Negotiation is underway to resolve problem being faced by tribal areas, he said while making it clear that dialogue would be held with those who renounces violence and lay down arms.

Only Pakistan forces can take action against extremism in Pakistan's areas because strikes by Afghanistan based allied forces in country's tribal areas can lend a chance before extremists to take advantage of the situation, the Prime Minister said.

Speaking on the occasion, Boucher has assured Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani US would back any policy made by Parliament with regard to war against terrorism.

I realy dont belive him, he is saying just to fill the stomach of the press & media. he couldnt do this, its not up to him because, upcomming US president will going to change everything, he is just trying to lay down grounds for US troops activities in fata.
