China poverty rate is 8%, definately less than pakistan's population.

Good news actually, China's new poverty figures show that it went from 8% to 2.9% (probably due to the new min. wage legislation ) A -65.00 % change

Population below poverty line: 2.8%
note: 21.5 million rural population live below the official "absolute poverty" line (approximately $90 per year); an additional 35.5 million rural population live above that level but below the official "low income" line (approximately $125 per year) (2007)

That is according to the CIA World Factbook?

I don't know, I think the World Bank's figure of 4% for 2007 seems more realistic.

I would love to see the figure for 2010 though, that would be much lower.
