Then after having a couple of meeting in Pakistan and on the sidelines of the UN.
The new Statement which came today after their meeting in DC has almost matched with what PM IK said in his winning Speech. "Mutually beneficial relations".

Secretary Pompeo met yesterday with Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, following up on their September 5 discussions in Islamabad on a range of bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest. Welcoming the Foreign Minister, Secretary Pompeo said the United States looked forward to working with Pakistan’s new government.
Secretary Pompeo discussed the importance of the United States and Pakistan working together to advance joint priorities, recognizing that bilateral cooperation was mutually beneficial and a factor for stability in South Asia. Secretary Pompeo underscored a common goal to advance peace and security in the broader region. In particular, Secretary Pompeo emphasized the important role Pakistan could play in bringing about a negotiated settlement in Afghanistan. The Secretary agreed that there was momentum to advance the Afghan peace process, and that the Afghan Taliban should seize the opportunity for dialogue.
Secretary Pompeo and the Foreign Minister agreed to remain engaged on these and other issues, and reiterated their desire to maintain constructive dialogue to advance shared interests.

This shows that the PTI government is doing pretty well on Foreign Relations till now.
The problem in the past has been that we never presented our point of view to the US properly. All we did was either threaten them or beg them for more AID.
We need to come out of zero sum game mind set. You have to give and take on foreign relations. Every Country has it's own interests and they do whatever they can to achieve them. All we need is to make them understand our interests and then we can reach on some kind of compromise. We cant go back to the way we were. When we did whatever US said. But at the same time we cant fight them, so let's hope this new approach proves beneficial for us and we are able to focus on our dwindling economy and start rebuilding it.
