US senator slams China for undermining Vietnamese sovereignty

.
Perhaps that's the reason Lieberman is licking some VN a$$ a bit at this moment. Americans always criticize China, what's new? Even Americans here in this forum think they have the right to mind China's business and tell us how our country should be ruled (not by 1 but by 2 or more parties and more freedom). That's the thing with Americans, they enjoy so much liberty that they forgot the meaning of internal affairs. If VN wants to become the dog of and screwed by America that's their choice.

China became dog of Uncle Sam from 1972. he he.

.
what happened in 1972,i only remember in 1975 you america father kick you ***,and you cryingto beg your another father russia's help.hahah

At the End of the day its China and Vietnam's Issue and They will have to sit down across a table and solve it without involving any third Party . and U.S. is not doing anything for Vietnam . They were the one who carpet bombed your country Sprayed "Agent Orange" to destroy your Ecology and now they want to destroy your Foreign Policy too . Ask Pakistani's now . They know how U.S. starts like Santa Claus Distributing sweets and Slowly transforms itself into Loch Ness Monster . They are Trying Same with India As well . But at the end of the Day India and China or China and Vietnam have to live near each other like they did for past 1000 years and like they will in the next 1000 years . U.S. just wants pawns against China nothing else

Agreed, Pawn always pay the price in the end.

.
We should start a petition and ask Lieberman whether he voted for or against compensating millions of Vietnamese victims of Agent Orange.

We should also ask Lieberman where are the U.S. funds to remove the tons of DDT from Vietnamese soil, which is constantly causing more birth defects. The U.S.-Vietnam War may have technically ended, but the Vietnamese casualties are still rising.

I think all of us are tired of the empty rhetoric coming from U.S. senators. Let's see some real money for Vietnamese victims.

Stop playing anti-China politics and clean up the American Agent Orange and DDT mess in Vietnam.

Firstly, China could care less about the anti-China crap coming out of an U.S. senator's mouth. Secondly, the U.S. Senate actually has the power to clean up the Agent Orange and DDT that America sprayed indiscriminately all over Vietnam. Let's see some real action and money.

playing with 2 superpowers is a dangerous game, playing with one is less. people always forget that.

he's a child molester must be cunning in that situation. last time he travel to Cambodia and bought 2 Vietnamese little girls and busted by local officials yet he got free anyway.

The U.S. want to destroy Vietnam's Foreign Policy?
No, our foreign policy is "Vietnam wants to befriend all countries" and we do not have to sit to sip past, we are living for the present and future...

History has a very bad habit of repeating itself if you don't lean lessons from it . It's a Cruel Teacher .

The Senator rightly says, China has seriously violated Vietnam's sovereignty.

Just look at the nine lots that China has blatantly "inviting international bids," it is completely within the VN's EEZ. That area is absolutely no dispute.

Right, we always have to fight against the neighbor greedy and bullying. Certainly India has experienced this.

Asia Times Online :: China walks tightrope over troubled waters

Geopolitical shifts are upsetting the waters of the South China Sea, as both China and Vietnam take a three-pronged approach to strengthen their claims over the Spratly Islands.

Military posturing, legal maneuvers, and economic strategies are being used by both sides to shore up their respective assertions of sovereignty over the contested islands. The intensification of the struggle for the Spratly Islands comes at a politically crucial time for the region. This quarrel over minor islands could have major global ramifications.

The recent escalation of the long-standing dispute began on June 15, when the Vietnamese air force conducted a patrol over the Spratly Islands (called the "Truong Sa" by Vietnam and the "Nansha" by China). Senior Vietnamese lieutenant colonel Ngo Vinh Phuc claimed that such patrols would become a routine occurrence, saying:

"The regiment decided that after the first flight to Truong Sa, it will be our regular duty, and we are always ready for it once we receive orders…With the flight, we want to reiterate once again that we will be always ready to protect the country's sacred sovereignty over seas and islands."

China disputes Vietnam's claims of sovereignty over the Spratlys. In response to the perceived Vietnamese provocation, Chinese Defense Ministry spokesman Geng Yansheng announced the deployment of armed Chinese patrols in the disputed maritime region:

"In order to protect national sovereignty and our security and development interests, the Chinese military has already set up a normal, combat-ready patrol system in seas under our control…"

Vietnam and China are inching closer to a possible armed confrontation, with neither side willing to back down. Both governments are utilizing political tactics to complement their military maneuvers.

China has big guns.

Vietnam is a primitive country with no modern destroyers or frigates. Vietnam will send out a few tiny imported corvettes for China to use as target practice.

Vietnam has only the small guns but we have big support from international laws, particularly UNCLOS1982.

China does not have the right to "invite international bids" in the water of Vietnam's EEZ.

Chinese big gun Vs UNCLOS1982.
