The US currently leads China in AI talent. But a disproportionate number of this talent is from China (29%). Many finished their undergrad in China and went to the US for their graduate studies and ended up staying in the US.

Yet people like Tom Cotton (probably descended from slave owners) who hail from BFE middle of nowhere states like ARKANSAS, that CONTRIBUTE ABSOLUTELY ZERO to global innovation and are filled to the brim with low IQ dumbasses who drive vehicles through mud on their spare time, are wanting to ban Chinese students from the US.

Go ahead and do it. GO AHEAD. Let's see if people from ARKANSAS AND ALABAMA are going to carry the weight!

Far more contribute to the industries in the countries they settle in. The Chinese spying shit is way overblown, just another red scare bullshit.

But I hope these rednecks ban these Chinese students, they'll be forced to stay in China and contribute and we'll see these low IQ rednecks eat their fucking dust. FUCKING INBRED CRACKER ASSSSS MOTHERFUCKERRS

Some of these Chinese students can be replaced with local Americans.

China and USA are now in competition for tech dominance and so USA importing Chinese to carry out cutting edge research will inevitably lead to tech spying by China.

Yeah let's see all these high IQ Americans from Arkansas fill the vacuum.

@tower9 I have not met any worse people in the whole world than Rednecks (aside from Israelis and Indians,) they are absolutely human trash in every sense of the word. You can spend your whole life caring for them and helping them, but they will still stab you in your back because you are not white.

Mostly they are descendants of poor Germans, Irish, and English who came after the NE was settled.

You know what I mean.

The talent available will lessen but USA will get by. USA has a huge pool of educated people to choose from. They can also take people from the rest of the Western world as USA is very attractive place still.

If we take the emotion out it is only logical. Chinese should take this as a compliment that they are considered peers now in AI by USA.

Chinese researchers and professors are cream of the crop, along with Iranians, Pakistanis, Russians. Their whole education system depends on us, how will they live without us?

What you do not understand is that the US has always heavily relied on immigrant talent to maintain its cutting edge technology. If it solely relied on domestic talent, the US would've lost the lead a long time ago. 29% of the talent in AI comes from China and this doesn't even include other Asian countries (Taiwan, S. Korea, Singapore, HK) or Asian Americans. So I can tell you that at least 40% of America's AI talent is Asian. AT LEAST.

ANY AND ALL WHITE AMERICANS who have the talent and aptitude to contribute to this field ARE ALREADY DOING IT. There won't be a magical supply of them that will fill the vacuum.

Trump's short sighted racism is making him shoot the US in the foot.

America benefits from brain drain immigration leave the stupid people in their homelands while smart ones leave as usual eg Post Soviet immigrants in the 90s and 2000s Chinese researchers and 2010s South Asians

Yes but USA will have to give greater incentives to local Americans to get into this field. As an example they can give grants rather than loans for specific Computer Science/AI programmes in USA universities that attract the best and brightest Americans. It is not true that USA does not have more capable people out there that it can recruit with more incentives.
They can also give more incentives to Indians as there would be plenty willing and capable and India is no threat to USA at this time.

I already said the talent pool will drop but think about it from USA's position. AI is one of the new tech frontiers and for national security reasons they need to reduce their dependence on their prime competitor China.

No point getting the best talent if that only leads to paying for research that your competitor ends up getting virtually for free. We know this will happen from past experience.

Obviously India is no where. It's all Pakistan in AI in US. All Pakistani professors teaching stupid americans tech per @Pan-Islamic-Pakistan . Lol.

Greater incentives like what? Over $250,000 incomes? Because that's already provided. You don't understand the culture in most of the Midwest and the South, lazy people.

The only place that can fill China's vacuum in this talent field is South Asia. But Trump is also cutting H1B visas. Just LMAO. What a straight idiot.
