QUETTA - Jamaat-e-Islami chief Sirajul Haq has said that the United States is responsible for terrorism in the Muslim countries and horrible wars are going on in 13 Islamic states because of the US policies.
Addressing a press conference at Quetta, he said lawlessness and terrorism all over the world was because of the US.
The US dropped nuclear bombs on Japan, killing millions of people, he said.
The US was bent upon destroying the sovereignty of other states to occupy their resources.
It had thrust war on different Muslims states to further divide them and, to achieve this end, racial, ethnic and sectarian differences were being promoted in these states.
The US attacked Afghanistan on the pretext of the 9/11 tragedy and reduced that country to a graveyard, he held.
JI provincial chief Abdul Mateen Akhunzada and other party leaders were also present.
He said: “Partial responsibility of the present state of affairs in the country also rests with our own people because we could not emerge as a single nation during the last 68 years and took pride in our tribes, sects and race.
”
He observed Europe was getting united to give a respectable living to its people, so Pakistan must follow them.
“As long as Islam does not become the ideology of the country, none of our problems could be solved,” he added.
Sirajul Haq said there was no dearth of resources in the country, but their unequal distribution was increasing poverty and sense of deprivation among the people.
He said there was a confrontation between the oppressed and the oppressor in the country and the JI was striving to unite the workers and the downtrodden on one platform against the feudalists and the tyrants.
The JI chief said the Baloch were patriotic people and, instead of pushing them to the corner, efforts should be made to bring them closer.
He said the issue of Balochistan could be resolved by taking its leadership into confidence.
He said the present silence could lead to an uprising, so Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should show political acumen and meet the Baloch leaders to resolve the situation.
He said the Balochistan package, announced by former Premier Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, should be implemented fully.
Referring to the Karachi situation, Sirajul Haq said there was monopoly of a single party in the port city, which was the main obstacle in the restoration of peace.
He said there was no single community in Karachi, but millions of Pashtuns, Baloch and Punjabis and were also residing there.
He lamented that courts, media and the administration in Karachi were hostage to a single party.
He said it was the responsibility of the federal government to establish rule of law and merit in Karachi for restoration of peace.
The JI chief rejected the proposed change in the Gwadar-Kashgar route and said any such attempt would be fully resisted.
