Idiots think US will give something to Pakistan.
Pakistan did more than what it has done now in previous Afghan war. What did we get in the end? sanctions!
Strategic interests are not bread crumbs that Pakistan can gather. Pakistan will have to be in a position to get any of its interests protected. It will have to think to revive its eceonmy. Taking moeny from IMF will not put it in a position of strength.
US may get its supplies from where ever. Fact remains Pakistan can only get what it wants by its own position in the region, not as some hand out.
The position that Pakistan has currently is that it takes money to run its govt, it also wants a pole position in the affairs in Afghanistan. Its government and its sympathizers dont have courage to stand up as they are corrupt people. They have money to hide in foreign capitals.
In the last decade, Pakistan has become worse. Instead of putting it in a position of strength, it has been attacked from both western and eastern border. Despite sacrificing thousands, it has no say and no one wants to listen to it. At the same time, it expects that while its economy and its pride will keep taking hits, it will be given a key position.
Letting NATO supplies through or cooperating with them will never get you anything at all. This is a wrong policy and an approach based on fear. And fear does not take you far, it restricts you. This is dilemma of Pakistan and it has been put in it by those who fear for their assets and family more than the country while wanting to claim its leadership.
