U.S. Military Launches Spy Operation Using Fake Online Identities

Air Force Creates "Counter Blog" Response Plan To Quell Online Dissent

Is it possible that the US has bought some media in India and also actively manipulates public opinion directly? That is to say, though PDF is a small forum, who knows if some FALSE FLAG posters are here to provoke Indian-Pakistani-Chinese conflict? While the scale of one forum is limited, one US military employee with this as a full time job could monitor 100 such sites, for 8 hours per day. The US hires hundreds of thousands as "spokespeople" and "commentors", can you imagine the amount of public opinion manipulation that can go on?

Chinese websites already have substantial activity by US soldiers. If even a Chinese language forum can have that, why do you think an ENGLISH language Pakistani forum will not?

This is going on since many years and the countries like US and Israel has their cyber armies to manipulate public opinion. I have no doubt on that. Observe that the members from US do not participate in this forum but when-ever any thing related to US is posted they suddenly appear out of nowhere and try to convince people here as if you are talking to spokes person of Pentagon!

Example:::

Israel Recruits Army Of Bloggers To Troll Anti-War Websites

It's is hilarious and down right funny to see the Chinese talk about propaganda. They block websites, block q&a sessions of the press asking their leaders questions in foreign lands( least that high IQ of copy and paste go up in flames if they watch a darn interview), they lie about any calamities they face , even risking others in the world as we saw with SARS then China pays 280K people to boost its Web image on forums and social websites! Researcher: China pays 280K people to boost its Web image - CNN

So really is this a in all honesty the classic stuck on stupid OP or what!

their trolls are not like yours who use religion to kill and blow up people and your govt had no balls to stop such ridiculous extremism ALA blasphemy laws. Information warfare has been there for centuries, but it's another thing to foster terrorists aka your kashmir terrorists from Pakistan or to use information to stamp down on your citizens rights aka china. Try this for an experiment, the very freedoms you enjoy to curse out the US or Pakistan while living in those countries , would land you in front of shooting squad in china.

Very true. Certain Indians also talk as "Indians", but when it comes time to talk against the US, they defend the US harder than most white Americans!

What else is new?
Every country from Albania to Zimbabwe does it.

This was speculation by the source, who didn't actually have any proof of his made up figure of 280000. The idea of it is even sounds stupid because you can't control hundreds of thousands of people to troll. How would you know they are doing a good job? How would you even know they are doing anything at all? Obviously a fake, in the same vein as the Cox Report of the 1990s, which lacked verifiable facts but was quoted as truth from those pushing their agenda, know what I mean?

It's likely that the source simply cannot accept that there are so many pro-China bloggers and forumites. He knows the number is in the several tens of millions so I'll guess he chose some random percentage that he called paid government trolls, in order to avoid calling them all brainwashed communists.

Bring some credible news report which show US has bought indian media houses to create pro-US public opinion, then we will debate. Not some half fantasy, half troll opinion solely brought out to bash "Indians".

That there are paid cyber warriors is what I too heard about.

However, that was supposed to be a Chinese gameplan.

Amongst many other sites stating so, here is what the BBC states:

China's internet 'spin doctors'

China is using an increasing number of paid "internet commentators" in a sophisticated attempt to control public opinion

These commentators are used by government departments to scour the internet for bad news - and then negate it.

They post comments on websites and forums that spin bad news into good in an attempt to shape public opinion.

To do this, they use specially trained - and ideologically sound - internet commentators.

They have been dubbed the "50-cent party" because of how much they are reputed to be paid for each positive posting (50 Chinese cents; $0.07; £0.05).

"Almost all government departments face criticism that is beyond their control," said Xiao Qiang, of the University of California at Berkeley.

I remember this invasion of this Chinese cyber Army, as some would have experienced, when a horde of Chinese posters descended on the internet and forums the world over, to obviate the negative opinion that was there over the Olympic Torch Relay. Some of them barely knew English!!

In fact, so many descended and were at it, the genuine forum members had a tough time to log in.

I wonder if there is any special style how anyone defends a point.

It is all as per the individual perception and style!

Wasn't it a few weeks ago that Hilary Clinton went to Congress, asking for more funding to America's propaganda wing like Voice of America? The US has the largest propaganda reach in the world.

An Indian American and a 'white' American are both the same; they're Americans. My next door nieghbor is from Haiti, and he's just as much of an American as I am, and I'm half Irish/British by heritage. You know nothing of the country you hate, which makes you no better than a member of the KKK in thought pattern.

Buuuuuutttttt........since most of the world hates America...does this mean all these wars to bring democracy are all apart of some higher grand scheme, and we want you to hate us? :P

This is not brought to bash India or Indians. This is out to bash the US which is manipulating public opinion in India.

FT.com / Media - Time Warner buys Indian entertainment network

FT.com / Media - Blackstone buys stake in Indian media group

I presume the Indians are overjoyed by your magnanimity.

The sad part is that as far as 'bashing' goes, the US is bashing all and sundry and they just don't care.

Therefore, do they really require to manipulate.

They are doing exactly what they want with or without manipulating, while everyone is sucking their thumbs.

The kid is in his early twenties, still in school under his daddy's money, never had a real job, never served in the military, and probably never been outside of his female scarce province in China, at best, his girlfriend's name is 'Jackie', catch my drift? So what else can he be but a Chinese equivalent of the American Klansman?
