US-led trade network could strengthen Vietnam’s place in global supply chains

.
Apparently you have never been to China huh.
I was in HK in 2004-2005 during sars.

I have Shanghai partners earning abt $1,500 per month, but living in an apartment due to high living cosy there.

And now, there r millions jobless Cnese starving in Shanghai cos they have No job :(

Vietnam can entrench itself in global supply chains if the U.S. forms a network of partners to reduce reliance on China, analysts said.
That's a big, big IF.
Australia, India, Japan, and the U.S
Having those 4 sitting behind one table is already a big stretch.
Vietnam, South Korea and New Zealand
Now, they want JAPAN, and KOREA behind the same table too...

Half of the world's iPhone is being assembled at Foxconn factory in Zhengzhou. This factory employs 350,000 employees. If the Chinese don't want this kind of "sweat shop" job, Vietnam is more than happy to take that 350,000 jobs from the Chinese like what Intel and Samsung is already doing in Vietnam.

You dream may come true. Luxshare is building a 15 hectare plant in Hanoi for Apple. A 15 hectare plant is not something you use to make some puny headphones, so most likely a portion of manufacturing run for iphone 12, or most likely 13. And recently they had a huge recruitment event there.

Last time I was Vietnam, when we did a gig for Yadea plant there. Luxshare, and foxconn were just having 2 tiny warehouses in that industrial zone. Now they scramble to outdo each other there, and bought almost half the zone for themselves.

A tooling engineer I know, now working with Luxshare told me now that they are having almost weekly recruiting runs to pre-recruit enough people for the Nghe An campus.

They see the 25% tariff to All products, including Apple, manufacturing in CN is unavoidable .

Foxconn is buying up land on the east of the same Zone, across the highway. The guy I know says the Nghe An campus will be even bigger in the future, and away from Foxconn, so they don't have to compete for the labour with them in the central Vietnam.

the province is very poor and less developed. good to have factories there.

Believe people more.

Cable production is a largely automated process these days. There is no reason for them to have a 1000+ people plant just to make cables. Think a bit.

Labour is damn cheap in Vietnam, its cheaper to use humans than machines there. Luxshare is the biggest competitor to FOXCONN and is veery competitive. I heard Terry Gou is a secret cpc member, lol.

No, my parents visited Beijing and Shanghai 10 years ago. But I didnt go wt them, cos CN is useless country to me to learn new thing ( I only visited capitalist places HK,SG,Malay Thai to see how they make money only).

I have partners in Shanghai, its enough for me to know that most of young Shanghai ppl like u only can afford to buy small apartments .

Your parents should tell you how developed is Beijing and Shanghai 10 years back right? Now it's even more developed and advanced. They most probably didn't try the HSR. The average price of housing is 500k rmb to 1mil rmb. That's less than 200k usd$ mate. Normally migrants cannot afford to buy housing in big cities so they buy in a tier 3 or 4 city near their villages with access to better schools and hospitals. Urbanisation is not just tier 1 cities it's hundreds of cities across China. I earn 10k $us a month even I cannot afford housing in Shanghai. Most housing is owned by Shanghai natives who inherit it after liberation and China government don't encourage ppl to settle in Shanghai, they want growth to spread. When your friend in Shanghai say he can't afford to buy housin, he is most likely from out of town, if he was shanghainese, he will 99% have housing due to wealth distribution after liberation.

I have been to HCM City, and most people I know can't afford to buy housing there too, same with Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur. SINGAPORE is better due to HDB, but they need to be married otherwise they need to wait till over 35.

Shanghai is actually the least affected. The most affected is guangdong and nearby areas but then China will adapt, 15% unemployment is the correct numbee

CN make money just by begging US-EU for exporting products there. U can build whatever u want, but when US-EU stop using made in CN products, then CN is nothing better than Lybia.

Most of ppl cant afford to buy house in Ha Noi just from 10 years ago. If u earn 500 usd per month 15-20 years ago, then u still can buy house in Ha noi, HCM cities .Ppl now cant buy house in HN,HCM, but they can go to another cities and buy house, there r many jobs in another VN cities, too.

while 20 years ago, Guys like u already couldn't buy house in Shanghai and its too hard to find job in CN tier 2 and 3 cities now. Hundred millions r jobless now .

Living in an apartment while making more money than average is how it is in every major city. Anyone can buy a farm in bumfuck nowhere while making sustinence money.
