A Washington-led semiconductor alliance including Taiwan, Japan and South Korea will set up an early warning system to prevent disruptions to the supply of tech hardware components that have become the centrepiece of the US-China tech war.

The warning system between the “Chip 4” dialogue partners would help ensure the supply of semiconductor chips for cars and could cover chipmaking raw materials and manufacturing equipment, Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs said on Monday.

Tsmc has a market cap of $435 billion. Apple has a cash reserves of $202 billion. So a takeover of Tsmc is very possible. Apple can buy it by cash reserves, cash flow and own shares.

Once under control by the US, the PLA will abandon the invasion plan. Game over.

From the 1960s through 1980s, Japan was the leader in electronics with portable transitors and walkmans.

Japan had 35 companies in the top 50 companies of the world.

US became nervous of Japanese growth and crushed it.

Japanese economy crashed in 1991 and has not recovered since.

That’s not easy to do that. You need high precision optics to generate such extremely short wave light. Only 1 or 2 companies in the world can do that. One is in Germany. German gov will never allow such strategic exports to a hostile country.
