From this:
to this:
"The US president was greeted at the airport by the governor of Riyadh, Prince Faisal bin Bandar Al Saud, and the event was not broadcast live on Saudi TV, as is routine with visiting heads of state – quickly generating talk of a snub."
All his hard work ruined! Good. Very good!
Saudi-American relations to ‘reach ground-breaking levels,’ says SAPRAC chief
Siraj Wahab | Published — Saturday 20 May 2017
JEDDAH: Salman Al-Ansari, president of the Saudi American Public Relation Affairs Committee (SAPRAC), said US President Donald Trump’s visit to Saudi Arabia holds unprecedented strategic significance in strengthening bilateral ties, especially given that for the first time in history the Kingdom will be the first country visited by a sitting US president while on their duties abroad.
Al-Ansari told Arab News in an exclusive interview that for the US to afford any country this distinction constitutes a positive step in relations with one of its most trusted allies.
Trump’s visit also carries unique significance as it is not merely a visit to the Kingdom, but to the heart of the Arab and Muslim worlds, Al-Ansari said.
“It’s clear that the current US administration finds Saudi Arabia’s ability to unite the entire Arab and Muslim worlds against terrorism invaluable to America’s efforts to address the region’s challenges,” he said, adding that he expects US-Saudi trade to “reach ground-breaking levels.”
The Kingdom is poised to “bring in the latest in US technology and know how, allowing American companies to help Saudi Arabia with its ambitious infrastructure plans,” he said.
“The Kingdom will also massively increase its investments in the US, which may create upwards of 1 million American jobs. The sky is the limit, as US-Saudi relations are on the cusp of moving into a new era of mutual security, stability and economic prosperity.”

RIYADH: A series of US-Saudi arms deals announced on Saturday includes a pledge to assemble 150 Lockheed Martin Black Hawk helicopters in the Kingdom, an official statement said.
The $6 billion deal for Black Hawks is expected to result in about 450 jobs in Saudi Arabia, the statement said. The letter of intent agreement between Lockheed Martin and Taqnia was among several deals announced in Riyadh on Saturday during the Saudi-US CEO Forum.
It comes as part of a wider potential deal with the US firm. Lockheed Martin said that Saudi Arabia has expressed its intent to procure more than $28 billion worth of integrated air and missile defense, combat ship, tactical aircraft and rotary wing technologies and programs.
“At Lockheed Martin, we are proud to be part of this historic announcement that will strengthen the relationship between the United States and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” said Lockheed Martin Chairman, President and CEO Marillyn Hewson.
“We are especially proud of how our broad portfolio of advanced global security products and technologies will enhance national security in Saudi Arabia, strengthen the cause of peace in the region, and provide the foundation for job creation and economic prosperity in the US and in the Kingdom. These agreements will directly contribute to His Majesty's Vision 2030 by opening the door for thousands of highly skilled jobs in new economic sectors.”
Another memorandum of intent covers government-to-government sales of Lockheed Martin programs to include integrated error and missile defense systems, multi-mission surface combatant ships, radar systems, surveillance systems, tactical aircraft and rotary wing programs, Lockheed Martin said.
Lockheed Martin and Saudi Arabian Military Industries also formed a memorandum of understanding to work together to build defense
capabilities in Saudi Arabia to support Vision 2030 and provide for localization efforts.
“Once fully realized, the programs in this announcement will support more than 18,000 highly skilled jobs in the US and thousands of jobs in Saudi Arabia as part of maintaining and modernizing these platforms over the next 30 years,” the statement said. “These programs help the Saudi government realize its Vision 2030 objective of building its domestic technology capabilities and skilled workforce.”

Dine like a king: Here is what President Trump had for lunch in Saudi Arabia
Arab News | Published — Saturday 20 May 2017
RIYADH: US President Donald Trump Saturday dined at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh during an official luncheon hosted by King Salman.
Arab News can reveal that the American president, his wife Melania and daughter Ivanka were treated to an extravagant meal, replete with cuisines from around the world.
First up on the mouthwatering menu was a Sicilian caponata and burrata salad, drizzled with basil-infused oil. Caviar with lemon-scented cream was also offered up as a tantalizing starter.
To follow, the guests enjoyed parmesan risotto with foie gras.
The main course was a sumptuous treat for the palate as guests were offered lamb cutlets with sundried tomato puree and an array of side dishes.
Perhaps new for the Trump family was the inclusion of typically Saudi fare such as the rice and chicken dish Kabsa, and a rice-based recipe from the western coast of the country called sayadia with najil.
Any guests with a sweet tooth would not have been disappointed with the date ice cream and date juice that was offered to those who attended the luncheon.
