Very wise move as we're already witnessing a change in demand and newer technologies that rely less on fossil fuels and more on renewable energy sources. The trend will only grow in that direction although I believe there will always be dependency on petroleum-run technologies, it's bound to decrease and the resource is not infinite. Good move by Saudi Arabia thinking of the future and making adjustments in that direction to cope well with the inevitable.

With Turkey we have transferred the technologies of electronic warfare and signed for a joint research centre with Aselsan to develop new products to serve the two countries and we have transferred the technologies of radar and communication systems

With Czechoslovakia, we transferred the technology of troop transport vehicles and all the strategic transport mechanisms..

With South Africa, we opened a 155mm, 105mm artillery, and 60mm, 81mm, 120mm munition factory and a production line for aircraft dumb and intelligent bombs..


This means that The kingdom of Saudi Arabia is becoming and strongly a global industrial country..
