US hands over 40 bomb disposal response vehicles to Pakistan

Good but 40 is not enough, more are needed for other provinces.

.
Thanks US. Need to induct more of these. Every small, medium and large city should at least have one.

Is it a working - transactional relationship? What's the US getting out of spending billions across the past 70 years from Pakistan? The steps the US took after OBL and reduced aid and all, could've happened decades ago. You really think its a transactional relationship?
And if you think that way, what's the relationship with China? Saudi Arabia and everyone else? They are ALL transactional in nature then, unless you actually have a valid logic behind what you said......and I'd like to hear that.

Yes, Pakistan's relationship is a working transactional relationship, and no, its relationship with China is very different, indeed based on goodwill more than anything else, on both sides.

In past 5-10 years both countries created misunderstanding against each other it will take some time to restore old friendship.Pakistani people don’t hate USA infect we thank USA for all the help it gave to Pakistan since its independence.

People like you, will never change or learn to negotiate. This is why you guys are behind from India and others. Things happen all the time, but people put their higher priorities first and work towards those. Here, you are too busy bashing a country who's stood by you.

I suggest you read what your Government and your media says about us. Bashing another country is the American way. We have been more loyal than the Zionist regime.

We allowed our airbase, airspace to be used for U2s in the 60s to spy against the USSR. In the 80s proxy war against commies in Afghanistan.

What did we get from all this, a big thank you from Uncle Sam by way of SANCTIONS in the 90s. Used and abused like a ''whore''.

Then came 2001, threatening to bomb kill millions of us if we don't join your war! Was there any Pakistani involved in 9/11? Was there any link to us? By joining YOUR God forsaken war, we are still reaping the rewards. Pakistan is burning because of your country!

After 14 years, you ran with your tail between your legs and left us with terrorists coming out of the woodwork and they're coming after us.

As for your $45bn dollar ''aid'' in 14 years doesn't even cover the damage to infrastructure, economy, 50,000 civilians dead, 4,000+ soldiers dead. 100,000+ soldiers in full combat, cost of logistics, wear and tear to equipment, weapon systems used, fuel, food, etc, etc.

Hi,

68 years ago or so, they got an ally which would side with them during cold-war against Soviet.

List of what i can remember what US got from us, perhaps other members can be kind enough to add something more in the list.
  1. U2 Incident.
  2. unrestricted access to Pakistani bases.
  3. Strong foothold in south east region
  4. Was only ally in southeast Asian country to side with them during Cold war
  5. Unhindered access to Nato's supplies through Pakistan (Discounting Salala incident)
  6. No respect for PAkistan's sovereignty, Salala Incident and Raymond Davis case.
  7. Normalization of ties through the efforts of Pakistan with CHINA, which lead to unprecedented growth of economies in both countries
  8. 80s proxy war of good ol Soviet VS Afghanistan
  9. The brunt of Afghanistan's invasion post 2001
Western leading countries, do not spend on anything if its not going to give them highly profitable returns, though sometimes the decisions and policies such as mentioned above, turn out to be a terrible disaster like AFG and Iraq.

But mostly it gives them unhindered access to their Global dominance

Would have been far more better if half of the aid was actually an investment.

Give man a fish and you will feed him for a day, teach man how to fish and you'll be feeding him for the rest of life

Pakistan has billed for all its war effort and has been reimbursed from the CSF for these costs.

The Cold War ended nearly a quarter century ago. Time to move on to the realities of the 21st century.

Hi,

Does not negate the fact that we played our part too in the transactional relationship as opposed by other member.

Of course you are correct, since a transactional relationship by definition must be supported by both sides to work.

Hi,

And so It has, but we ended up in losing quite a lot in transactional relationship.

I wish we we had more sort or rock solid relationship.

But then it's just my 2 paisas

It is up to each side to play the game as best as it can. The better players collect more. I agree in wishing with with you that the relationship between USA and Pakistan should be better, but the paths taken by both countries make that unlikely over the next few years, at least.
