Another attempt to demonize Dr Manmohan Singh. Direct military intervention intervention in a bloodless transition would have some negative impact on India's relation with Maldives and over all international stand. But if required India will use force to save Maldives from internal and external forces like it did in 1988.

Contrary to the popular belief , despite India being invited by Govt Maldives for operation cactus. Maldivian Govt remained suspicious of India's intentions, so i guess we learnt from our experience.India did the right thing.

Maldives is facing internal problem & india do not poke its nose in internal affairs of others. if maldives faces any external threat u will see indian troops going to maldives in no time. so it's better u come down from the back of ur horse.

woow !! In 1988 when India was under soviet umbrella then it was alright with US and now when we are allies, INDIA was apprehensive of US. Give me a break !!

THe only reason is, GoI has a positive image in maldive and didnt want to loose it b participating in an internal process.

There is a difference between Military Intervention and Military Invasion. If Maldives had asked for it then within hours India had sent its fleet. But why to act like an irresponsible state and call for unnecessary action if not required.
