Nobody has to be found innocent. In ALL justice systems, you ARE innocent till proven guilty. I think to say otherwise would be a crime in itself!

At this point we are just arguing semantics. I am not saying in the American system you are guilty until proven innocent, I am just saying that the "American system" does not give the charged person the satisfaction of formally saying "You are found innocent." Instead, it says "You are not proven guilty". Many guilty people are not proven guilty because the evidence is not sufficient for the jury, or the jury chooses to be sympathetic to the defendant in spite of the evidence. OJ Simpson is a case in point. His criminal trial found him not proven guilty, but in his civil trial he was found "responsible" for the deaths of Nicole Simpson and her friend. Most unbiased people believe the evidence did prove him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt even though his criminal trial jury did not. In the French Napoleonic system I believe that you are considered guilty until proven innocent by the defense.
