US drone strike kills four in North Waziristan: official

MIRANSHAH: A US drone strike killed at least four suspected militants and injured two others on Tuesday in a restive Pakistani tribal region near the Afghan border, security officials said.
Two US drones fired four missiles on a vehicle in Shnakhura village, 10 kilometers from Miranshah, the main town in Pakistan’s North Waziristan region, considered a bastion of Taliban and Al-Qaeda-linked militants.
The security official speaking to The Express Tribune, said that it could not be ascertained whether any prominent persons were included among the killed or not, but added that 4 missiles were fired on the vehicle by the Drone, in which the vehicle was destroyed completely.
Earlier, on Sunday – the second day of Eidul Fitr in the region – US drones targeted suspected Taliban militants travelling in two vehicles in the Shawal area.
There has been a dramatic increase in US drone strikes in Pakistan since May, when a Nato summit in Chicago could not strike a deal to end a six-month blockade on convoys transporting supplies to coalition forces in Afghanistan.
