Guys: I thought the ACM said that they will shoot drones down...what the hell happened? Why is he making claims that cannot be backed up? Anyone has any inside scoop? I am personally very annoyed at the ACM for the bravado...it just undermines the credibility of the entire AF

More along the lines that they can intercept and shoot. Probably this strike was done with PAF's permission, in theory. For me as long as terrorists are finishing then great !!!!

I know quite a few sources are saying that he explicitly ordered the air force to shoot down American drones but the outlets aren't more reliable than the one mentioned. Also, the fact that Indian media are reporting that the ACM ordered the shooting of drones is very detrimental to the credibility of these claims.

It's well known that the PAF has the ability and capacity to shoot down the drones but they will evaluate the potential outcomes of doing so before deciding the course of action to take.

I believe declaring the ability to shoot down and having a policy of shooting down UAV's are two different things. I wouldn't put it past our media to sensationalize ACM's statements for some drum beating

Funnily enough, it was primarily American, Indian and other foreign media that seem to have misconstrued the ACM.

Regardless nothing better than Pakistan media berating their own nation.....makes incentives for foreign media to do the same. What better "truth" other than home-made sources....
