I don't believe this news. India doesn't need anyone's permission to hold exercises with its OWN armed forces on its OWN soil with its OWN money.

India will be holding military exercises along the Sino-Pak border areas "without any formal advance intimation to either Beijing or Islamabad" as it has the backing of the US, said a Pakistani daily.

First bold part: A war exercise is held on either side of the border. Not on both sides. Any region more than a 50 Km radius is not a forward area meaning we have full right to conduct ANY scale of wargames inside our territory without anyone's permission. This is going to be a sequential wargame. One cannot launch exercises all over 6,000+ Km border. This is common sense; something which the reporter seems to be lacking.

Second bold part: We are neither in US territory nor in international water to need US backing or not. Even if US was against this exercise, we'd go ahead with it. It is nobody to question our wargames. You've a weakness on desperately trying to hyphenate Pakistan with us.

Third bold part: What's new in this?

The Nation said in an editorial that in less than a month's time, India will be holding "second round of military exercises along the Sino-Pak border areas using Russian-made T-20 tanks without any formal advance intimation to either Beijing or Islamabad".

It seems that the reporter was covering both Champions' League and defense reports simultaneously. And the mix up clearly shows. :coffee:

These are not routine exercises and are being held with a purpose.

Like duh. Governments don't usually spend millions of dollars on exercises for daily PT exercises. There is always a purpose.

"Defence experts and observers are of the view that these war games are being held with full blessing of the United States which is bent upon propping up India as a counterweight to China in the backdrop of Beijing's rise as the next super power both economically and with defence point of view," it said.

Wow! Now we need US blessing to conduct wargames INSIDE our territory? Desperation level in Pakistan seems to be peeking considering this hyphenation attempt.

The editorial added, "There is an urgent need to explore all our options to revisit our defence deal with China and look for new vistas for arms purchases since the United States is not a reliable ally anymore."

Be my guest.

The US-Pakistan ties became strained following the May 2 killing of al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden in Abbottabad city.

Ironically instead of guilty, the reaction is that of proud defiance of hiding the most wanted man on the planet. What more does one want to know after such a reaction?

Obviously. Some people think that just by getting tagged with another country's name, they're of the same status in all aspects.
