US Asks India to Increase Afghan Military Assistance

.
This mean that US wants ‘WWE RAW’ to send trained terrorists in Pakistan specially in Balochistan. The reason why US is demanding or pushing India to send in ground troops or training staff in Afghanistan is because US is helping & developing India economy so this is what US is asking in return & India will fulfill US’s wishes.

. .
This would be a dream come true.

You know Balochistan will be much closer from the Afghani Border.:azn:

On topic

I think it would be a really stupid move if we move our Army and Air force there.History is the witness of the fact that Afghanistan has proved to be a superpower defeater.Plus Pakistan will do whatever it takes to hurt our missions there.

We are better of concentrating in our problems, solving them and focusing on our development.

.
we should provide arms, training(even small contingent trainers are ok),joint exercise etc..but there shouldn't be any proper military presence in Afganistan.it'll encourage Pakistan to target more people in Afganistan.Afganistan has enough men to counter taliban.they should learn to handle them by themselves.

.
There is a need to train and build a functional Afghan Air force, for their specific COIN and CAS operations against taliban and supporters. India still has the entire tooling for Jaguars, strike a deal to make 2- 3 sqdns of new jaguars for afghan air force and in mean time place another two squadrons for support and training Afghanistan. Apart from that soft loans for platforms like rudra seems to be a good option.

Another important area is to develop a functional armored corp for Afghanistan. May be we should provide arty hardware surplus IFV's and the t55's in storage as an interim solution, which can later be replaced by appropriate platforms.

Who will make these new squadrons of Jaguar , TATA?

.
send the best of sikh to defeat the taliban (pashtun barbarians) like the great Ranjit singh did. maybe the americans cant, but the sardars will def kick@$$.

.
Bad idea! Period! India should never get militarily involved in that cesspool.

.
Its their war let them fight it and let us just stick to helping them without getting involved directly.

.
India is already providing them the training and fine tuning their warfare skills. The only thing USA et al desire from India is to take up larger numbers of Afghan soldiers and officers for training. Afghanistan is India's strategic partner and we will do the best we can to help them build better security forces. As far as providing equipment is concerned then NATO and USA has pledged a long term monetary assistance and defence equipments to ANA therefore India may not be able to help them much in this regard.

As far as sending Indian troops in Afghanistan is concerned then we already have good numbers of non-combatant security personnels guarding our infra structure investments and consulates. Sending regulars is not what India would like to do at present but should keep all its options open. The only concern is how Iran's going to help us in future.

1. For WCC the number one reason for remaining engaged / allied to India as well as Pakistan is their manpower. Their history of mercenary service over centuries and the willingness to accept casualty is remarkable. On jumbo-mumbo like "nimak halal" / true to salt, etc have urged the flower of SA youth to fight for others.

2. The exception has been BD. We were the first to mutiny for which Bengal Presidency Army was disbanded. Bengalee Muslims kept on opposing the British and their planted (mostly) Hindu zamindars. An attempt was made during WW I to raise some Bengalee Muslim units. (Bengalee Hindus being Nomo-Shudro/Kayestho never did and even do not serve in the military. Hindu Brahmins signed up as officers.)

3. Two Bengalee Muslim Companies were raised. My grand-father was in the first one which was taken to Palestine. When they found they are facing the soldiers of the Caliph to whom they offer the Friday khutba, they promptly mutinied and were sent home. The other Company spent the entire duration of the war at Karachi. Our national poet, Kazi Nazrul Islam, was a Havildar here. His writings, literature, poems, songs and music are so influenced by his experience.

4. Pakistan has changed now. Pak mily is no more mercenary. An example is the protection of the Saudi royals. It is no more a task allotted to the Karachi Corps but to the Army Command at Pune.

5. In Afghanistan India has a Lieut Gen with troops masquerade-ring as BRO. There are many IA units who pride themselves in their performance during various British-Afghan Wars. 1 Sikh may be. 1 Punjab also, I think. WCC knows that and with friendly political and military leaders in India, the Americans will be able to push this evil scheme through. They will wait for the conducive time and opportunity.

Problem is you are treating India as untouchable. Just because you do not like India does not mean that India should be out of Afghanistan. There is absolutely no basis on Pakistan not wanting India in Afghanistan.

One has to remember that it is Pakistanis that ask for irrefutable evidence on every allegation leveled against them, so when the tables are switched try to provide similar level of evidence on your every claim.

yes, india has every right to build bridges in afghanistan.

but let paint a picture for you; its pakistan and the pakistani people who are making the sacrifice in this US imposed war on terror but its india who reaps all the benefits in making very deep relationships with afghanistan, how does that work? you guys should be thanking pakistan for being canon fodder :)

what is this if its not incredible perfidy by the US?

pakistan has been utterly used to implement nato designs and simultaneously india has been pushed into the leading role in afghanistan.

there is no quid pro quo - if pakistan is making a sacrifice, if pakistan is bearing the brunt it makes sense that some of pakistans concerns are taken on board.

to my mind its the americans who have been fundamentally duplicitous - they push pakistan into war and offer nothing meaningful in return. to compound matters the americans have pushed india into a leading position.

what you see from pakistan are defensive measures to protect some of its interests, this is the source of the accusations of perfidy - that some in pakistan are defending itself.

the main point is that right from the outset its the us who have planned all along to stab pakistan in the back.

The mistake most Pakistanis make when they talk of duplicity of USA is that they are ignoring the super duplicity of Pakistan. The need for WOT in Afghanistan mainly arose because of Pakistan and its support for Taliban. USA came in and made Pakistan clean up the mess that Pakistan made in the 1st place. Now to expect a return for that is plain naive.. Just wish that Pakistan does not have any crippling punishment in store as NATO leaves..That itself would be a good deal for Pakistan

The difference between India and Pakistan in Afghanistan is that what India wants in Afghanistan is exactly what Afghans want for themselves. Whereas Pakistan is seen as a foreign aggressor.

If Pakistan wants to be liked by Afghans it should align its policies with what Afghans want.

At the present moment what Afghans want most from Pakistan is to be left alone.
