US Asks India to Increase Afghan Military Assistance

There is no way India is going to have any kind of a military presence there . Training afghan soldiers here in india will continue

I personally think we should start having bases in other friendly countries, especially in Afghanistan to divert Pakistan forces at both western and eastern fronts.

This is nothing new that US is pressing India for military where as Indian Gov is not intrested for.

There is a need to train and build a functional Afghan Air force, for their specific COIN and CAS operations against taliban and supporters. India still has the entire tooling for Jaguars, strike a deal to make 2- 3 sqdns of new jaguars for afghan air force and in mean time place another two squadrons for support and training Afghanistan. Apart from that soft loans for platforms like rudra seems to be a good option.

Another important area is to develop a functional armored corp for Afghanistan. May be we should provide arty hardware surplus IFV's and the t55's in storage as an interim solution, which can later be replaced by appropriate platforms.

the americans actually seems truly affronted that SOME in pakistan would take action to protect their own interests.

every sppech on afghanistan will talk about protecting US citizens - as if they are some sacred people, what of protecting afghans, pakistani's or indians?

Problem is you are treating India as untouchable. Just because you do not like India does not mean that India should be out of Afghanistan. There is absolutely no basis on Pakistan not wanting India in Afghanistan.

One has to remember that it is Pakistanis that ask for irrefutable evidence on every allegation leveled against them, so when the tables are switched try to provide similar level of evidence on your every claim.

I think India should go for it and get expereince and after some years it will leave Afghanistan without asking US,
