You don’t get it. US military will be throughly humiliated if it were to take on the full firepower of the PLA in China’s backyard. This will not even be a proper contest, it will be a masssacre. It’ll make the humiliation the US military got in the Korean War look like child’s play. Your army and marine numbers are dwarfed by the numbers China has. China will take out the US ISR network at the start with cyber, EW, space warfare. This is China’s strength. US will be in full retreat once they experience the full firepower of the PLA. That’s why the US did nothing when China took Scarborough Shoal, build islands in South China Sea and place military assets on them. US couldn’t even do anything when Russia took Crimea. 2. All, including production rates, signals to a commitment to long range standoff weapons, and avoidance of contact warfare.

US has no interest to fight China in a head on confrontation despite all their treaties in Asia. They did nothing when China built and militarised the South China Sea. They did nothing when China took control of the Scarborough Shoal. They did nothing when Russia took Crimea. They did nothing when Iran destroyed their bases. They can’t do anything to North Korea. They couldn’t topple Assad in Syria. They can topple the Castros in Cuba. They can’t topple Maduro in Venezuela.

Philippines, Thailand and South Korea will abolish their treaties with the US. Only Japan and Australia will remain their treaty allies.
