You don’t get it. US military will be throughly humiliated if it were to take on the full firepower of the PLA in China’s backyard. This will not even be a proper contest, it will be a masssacre. It’ll make the humiliation the US military got in the Korean War look like child’s play. Your army and marine numbers are dwarfed by the numbers China has. China will take out the US ISR network at the start with cyber, EW, space warfare. This is China’s strength. US will be in full retreat once they experience the full firepower of the PLA. This isn’t Iraq or the Taliban you’re fighting. The entire reputation of the US will be in complete tatters as no one takes your treaties seriously after you fail to defeat China. US has everything to lose if it fails to completely defeat the PLA. Every Asian country will never sign a treaty with the US and it won’t even be worth the paper it’s written on. China is just too powerful in Asia for anyone. China’s military capabilities are rising extremely fast both technologically and numerically with each year. US only has limited assets to fight in Asia and are getting dwarfed by China’s industrial might. As I said before, this war won’t even be a contest. US military knows it cannot win an all out war with China. It’s suicidal. That’s why the US did nothing when China took Scarborough Shoal, build islands in South China Sea and place military assets on them. US couldn’t even do anything when Russia took Crimea. Russia defeated the US agenda in Syria. Iran destroyed your bases and what did you do? Donnie gave a tough guy speech about sanctions. The assets I listed are not even the full spectrum of assets of the PLA. There are a lot more and in large numbers too. China’s industrial might is unmatched. let’s assume Vietnam hosts US missile batteries we will become target of chinese missile strikes. However Vietnam is the target of chinese missile strikes even we don’t host the batteries. What’s the difference?
