US ambassador ‘pleased’ after treatment at hospital in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: While Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is in London for his medical check-up, US Ambassador to Pakistan David Hale felt "pleased” after getting treatment at Shifa hospital in the federal capital on Friday, where he was diagnosed with “mild inflammation".

"Ambassador Hale has been diagnosed with mild inflammation," US Embassy spokesman Christopher Snipes told DawnNews.

"I am pleased to have been treated at a hospital in Islamabad,” Hale was quoted as saying.

The spokesman further said “it would take few days for Hale to completely recover from ailment as doctors have recommended him some medicines”.

Meanwhile, Nawaz Sharif has extended his stay in the British capital and is now expected to return on Sunday.

PM House Spokesperson Mohiuddin Wani confirmed it to DawnNews that “Nawaz Sharif will be staying for another day in London on the advice of doctors”.

I very much doubt he would have fared better in USA.. although one would mentally feel that one has done the best... unless he was suffering from very rare form of cancer that is only treated in USA.

Sir I do agree with you about the kind of illness but open heart surgery is too common now a days. I am not sure if you talk about the skill set of doctors in US or UK because we have very good doctors in India too. Yes if you talk about services then US, UK are best among developed countries.

What would be the best hospital in Pakistan in terms of facilities and modernity ? I think it would be Agha khan followed by shifa.

Agha khan's medical university and hospital both are world class and is highly recommended even in USA . Shaukat Khanum would also be great .
