I think China and Russia support Iran to some degree, and they will not allow Iran to be locked up by the US.

Just because the US is aiming for this, doesn't mean they'll succeed. The rest of the world doesn't support the US' actions against Iran, at least right now.

The only reason why previous sanctions were powerful, was because the rest of the world sided with the US; this time, with the EU, Asia, Africa, and the rest of the world having increasingly cold relations with the current US president, things aren't so clear cut.

Is Iran really worse than it's neighbours in interfering in other countries ?
A lot of anti Iran sentiment even on this forum. Is it due to their being Shia and in a power struggle with the Saudis or are they really sponsoring armed groups all over ?
I like Iran as a ancient civilization and with the era of fake news and long held anti Iran policies of USA can't really decide whether the americans have a case or it's the normal american war mongering.
Experts can weigh in without prejudice based on facts.

NATO doesn't exist because the members like each other, it exists because of the mutual threat of Russia.

You forgot to add Zia and his creation of sectarian militant groups targeting Shias in Pakistan. I witnessed the sectarian conflict blow up in Karachi. The state did nothing but watch while thousands of Shias were being targeted for no reason other then being Shia it was then that Iran naturally found a way in Pakistan otherwise Iranian meddling in Pakistan was next to nothing.

Why do you equate Iran with shia sect?

The regional conflicts cannot be explained by Religion. Even though they have used Religion Historically to flare up morale.

Arabs and persians dont get along. Its not Rocket science.

Oh please, after the Iranian revolution, the Iranian government made it it's mission to spread the Shia extremist revolution to other Islamic countries. The Saudis got scared, because it was a threat to their regime, so they spread a counter revolution in the form of Sunni extremism.

Don't excuse Iran, and place all the blame on one man.

Its always been a playground of Proxy warfare.

These are ancient traditions of man.

You cannot put a timeline on when it started or how. You can however trace escalations.

While you put it 1979. Some 1951. Others 89 or 2011.
