Pakistan is already operating with a large fleet of Cobras. US is trying to stop procurement of MI-35 and Z-10 in Pakistan Army Aviation. But such peanuts from US are not enough to halt other deals. Pakistan will surely purchase 20, 20 helis from Russia and China. 40 attack helicopters are our minimum requirement because half of old cobra fleet is going to be phased out in future.

The contract was signed jointly for the USMC and Pakistan. So some helicopters the USMC will get the other Pakistan, which is apparently only 2 AH-1Zs.

The entire contract is for 35 Helicopters for the USMC and Pakistan to be delivered by Aug 2018.

Pakistan requested what, 15 AZ-1Hs? The contract is for 19, the Pentagon can easily decided that rather than giving Pakistan 2 for now, lets give them more under a Military Equipment Transfer, from the existing stock in the US Military.

As far as who gets what number helicopter, tThe allocation of which helicopter from the assembly line will go to whom isn't stated in the article, but i'm sure it probably will not be state in the contract either. It will most likely depend on whether the Pentagon believes it time to 'reward' Pakistan for it's Zarb e Azb.

during 2010 it cost ~30 million to USMC .... now its 2015-2016

in my opinion its quite a reasonable price ....for US made weapon sys.

How many Chinese equivalent Copter we can get for one ? probably 2.
for 15's money you can get 30. other than that we were already going to get more Chinese copters.
So best would be to customize your Chinese Copter put some Western gadgets, build under license and if possible sell them to other countries.
Quantity and Quality both will be achieved and also get the industrial base to build Helicopters.

But hey how the elites gona get their pockets filled. Alas

Pakistan will acquire this platform, then after extensive studies and flying, they will make a list of things that they find crucial and work with the Chinese to put them in the WZ-10. Which will then be inducted in numbers, maybe even with local assembly.

I never said Pakistan won't acquire WZ-10 in my post. Whats the need of spending almost 1000 Million when we can save it and spend it on better things.
