Most European countries will end up buying the NGAD eventually, like the F-35 owing to lacking advanced tech in Tempest or FCAS. American politics will continue but so will its air warfare advantage. Only China will be able to measure up.

Me as an American citizen questioning why we need additional costly tech( that inevitably leads to delays) when we already dominate the shit out of any of the threats leads you to make some troll post?

I am not against NGAD, I questioned the need for doing the F-35 approach of shoving everything and anything in the aircraft when even 50% will keep any future threat at bay.

1. USAF converted some of its F-22A Raptor jets into a testbed for NGAD technologies and related experiments. These technologies will be ported to the NGAD frame after maturization. This development strategy is different from that of the F-3S program and will make shift from F-22A Raptor to NGAD relatively cost-effective, convenient and organic in the 2030s timeline.

2. USAF is looking forward to retire a total of (33) F-22A Raptor [earliest production] to save costs and create a pool of supply parts for the remaining fleet.
