Urgent Help regarding Android Phone .

Ok so yesterday i bought a new Moto Z phone, according the Motorola website they have released the latest Android version on their phones, but Some how i am not been able to update my Android version from 6.0.1 to 7.0 or higher , can anyone help me why its happening ? every time i go to system update it says , my Software is up to date which is BS .
does anyone know if its a bug or manufacturing problem for which i can claim my warranty ? or its something else . Right now my Phone does not have any Sim or Carrier ..

Sometime updates are released/made available to different regions at a different time. May update is not available where you are. wait and try.

the phone is Assemble in China , someone told me that Chinese Moto Z does not get OTA ? do you know anything about it ?

Most of the brands are being assembled in China, including iPhone, under licence so I do not think Assembled in China makes any difference, unless its fake / clone. you can check online how to check fake clones.

check IMEI number match it with box IMEI number ,match specification of the phone(use cpuz or hardware info from setting) if matched you don't have clone version. check your phone is unlockable or not (some older model of motorola have this "panchiat" where only unlockable phone get updates i have this issue in moto g but i don't think this will occur in moto z(tap build version 10 time to unlock developer option check option of OEM UNLOCKING 'don't activate it'))

and most importantly updates take time it have to travel from US it will take few weeks to reach pakistan.

i dont think phone is clone ..

No harm in just making sure, clone and original looks and behave the same way, hard to determine if you dont know what to look.

You can carry back or call the seller and ask them to assist, fist make sure its genuine or clone so you can deal accordingly.
I am sorry, I will not be able to help anymore, because have no idea of the market, networks or anything specific to Pak.

IMEI is matched ..
but i bought it 2 days ago, its still running on Android 6.0.1 , and there is 7.0.1 and now even have Oreo update ? so shound't i get Nugout Update ?

Maybe your phone is done in regards to updates. When the phone gets too old Android stops its software updates.

Updates are usually rolled out via carriers. Put a sim card in your phone and retry. Also, try different carrier sims. Sometimes, one carrier role out updates for some phones earlier than others.

i don't know about sim issue in motorola , in my samsung it doesn't require sim to update,
