Koi abr ure kisi Qulzum sey
Ras barsey maikhaney mein
Koi Jaagta ho, koi kurhta ho
mere dair se wapas aaney par.
Koi Saans bharey merey Pehlu mein
Aur Dabey Dabey lehjey mein Kahey
Suno tum ney ab tak barey Dard sahey
Tum tanha Tanha Chaltey rahey
Suno tanha chalna Theek nahin
chalo aao safar par saath chalo
Chalo mujhe Bana key Gawah chalo.

Something I remembered from the good old college days, last night( tells you how little you sleep as you get older). To all you unmarried souls this was our anthem at that time. Oh if you only knew how dreams get shattered!!!!:

Mirza Assadaullah Khan Ghalib is a GREAT Poet, not just a poet but he was a great philosopher. In his poetry o0ne can find real philosophy, his poetry showing that period of history. Ranj say khoogar huwa insaan to mit jata hay RANJ, Mushkilain itnin parein mujh par k aassan ho gaein.. .. Suntay aye thay k Ghalib k urhain gae purzay. Dekhnay hum bhi gae pa tamasha na huwa.......

I didn't mean nationality has to be English, I meant they do it in English, even if they are American or Canadian.
You listed them, are they any good? Or are they just poets?

Son you have to understand one thing . There are poets in every language and they are really good. English language has a history that goes back at least 600 yrs if not more and with a cultural base that long and rich, it would be a travesty to consider that the language has not produced even one good poet. Advice from an old man, respect and revere other cultures instead of looking down on them. You may learn something good from them. One of the purposes of coming onto this forum is that you enhance your knowledge base not only abotut defence related matters but other aspects of life and culture. So please go to a library near by with the list Keysersoze has provided and get one of the books anread it. then come back and tell us what you felt.

مذاق میں بھی کسی انسان کو یہ زیب نہیں دیتا کہ وہ ان چیزوں کا تمسخر اڑائے جن میں انسان کا اختیار نہیں۔ جب ہم ایسا کررہے ہوتے ہیں تو ہم بالواسطہ اُس ذات کا مذاق اڑا رہے ہوتے ہیں جس نے ان چیزوں کو تخلیق کیا ہے۔ انسان ناسمجھ ہے اور اس چیز کا شعور نہیں رکھتا۔ اس لئے تو خسارے میں رہتا ہے۔

بعض دفعہ ساری زندگی گزارنے کے بعد بھی ہم یہ جان نہیں پاتے کہ ہمیں آخر زندگی میں کس چیز کی ضرورت تھی ۔۔۔۔۔۔ کسی چیز کی ضرورت تھی بھی یا نہیں ۔۔۔۔۔۔۔ اور بعض دفعہ زندگی کے آخری لمحات میں ہمیں محسوس ہوتا ہے کہ جس چیز کو ہم نے زندگی کا حاصل بنا رکھا تھا اس چیز کے بغیر زندگی زیادہ اچھی گزر سکتی تھی۔
