China's car sales are back. April car sales reached over 2 million (https://defence.pk/pdf/threads/chinas-car-sales-are-back-over-2-million-sold-in-april-2020.665318/). A lot of new models have been launched or to be launched in the coming weeks. Let's take a look:
BYD Han EV
0~100km within 2.9s. With its 'blade battery' technology, the range is beyond 600km (NEDC), the highest for lithium iron phosphate battery, with ultra high safety.

XPENG P7 EV
Super high range of 700km (NEDC).

Hongqi H9

Changan Uni-T

Geely Haoyue

What china lacks is branding, the car looks pretty cool. They should hire lots if famous celebs to endorse these products to add the cool factor.

It takes time to build a brand image. But the progress is very rapid. Now SAIC reached ~3 million annual sales for its own brands (JV sales not included), and Geely has ~1.5 million sales (600K volvo sales not included).

@Kai Liu I love these car threads of yours, bro! Keep them coming!
The Hongqi looks pretty sweet.
The 3.0 litre engine on it is pretty pathetic, though. Only 272 hp. China doesn't have much experience in building large displacement car engines because of tax laws (>2.0L and be prepared to pay an arm and a leg for the car).

I think, I may take a look on the Han, though I never ever owned a car.

It's a shame that Shenzhen bans motorcycles. I would've still preferred an electric maxi scooter to a car.

Yes bro, that 3.0 litre engine is from the previous gen tech, probably 5+ year old.. Now the new 2.0 liter engines can get the same performance:
Such as the Chery's new 2.0 liter turbo charged engine, specs outperform some popular VW and Nissan engines:

GAC 2.0 liter turbo charged engine also has very good specs: 252 ps/390 Nm

And its 1.5 liter engine:

Which has 140KW power and 285 Nm torque.

Changan 1.5 liter turbo charged engine as well: 132 kw power and 300 Nm torque

The latest SAIC 2.0 liter diesel engine:

You can have a look at electric bikes. I borrowed an electric bike from my uncle and it's a pure fun when you ride a bike with additional power. Easy to climb a mountain. There are also electric bikes for cities, with better geometry and thinner wheels.
