Kalam was not respected for his readings on Hinduism but for his outstanding contributions in the fields of space and defence. And for his vision for a prosperous India. I myself had no idea about his Hindu book readings. Your justification for our liking for Kalam is idiotic for we would have liked that preacher Zakir more for he read more on Hinduism.

You are mistaken though i understand where you are coming from. Christianity and Islam are very well defined religion with a common understanding of what is right and what is wrong and proper rituals applying to all believers. Hinduism is a mish mash and even the name hinduism is foreign given. Most horrible racism under the name of brahminism hides in hinduism and this has nothing to do with sanghis it is always there.

you owe it yourself to define your religion properly . In south people have their own beleif systems which must be dignifed as religions where you can be priest you want or your son can be. Not the present brahmanism.

No I am not mistaken- I know my religion and have no need to define anything to anyone- The relationship here is between me and GOD and its personal- You are trying to club all religions having the same way of operating with set defined rules- fortunately Hinduism is not defined by such- All the bad that you see around you in the name of religion be it Hinduism/Christianity or Islam are all man made, so dont blame GOD for this. All the reasons you have mentioned are man made- Hindus dont have to follow a book to be one- Its a way of life and the path you choose defines you.

The education system in most Indian institutes focuses on technical training and not on the humanities, which is why much of the middle class is not moved by the many human sufferings within India.

At least I was taught Moral Science and social studies while growing up in Chennai- I studied in an Italian-Christian School (Don Bosco Egmore)- I did not even know or was taught anything that showed one religion over the other.

Moral Science is one subject that needs to be taught in all schools.
