What's new

Unsure of China's motives, but 1962 repeat not possible: VK Singh

The situation now is same as in 1962. Our nuke deterrent is just on paper. It is not credible deterrent. Our tiny 20 kt nukes are not going to threaten anyone, while chinese are sitting on 2000 kt nukes. Most of the tanks are night blind. Have not bought any artillery for more than 2 decades. Most of the air-defence systems are from old vintage soviet era. Our tiny inventory of missiles can't even hit the center of china. Infrastructure is pathetic. Our idiot army chiefs are dreaming about fighting on 2 fronts, while we can't even successfully defend on one front. It is a Shameful state of affairs.

China attacked us in 1962 because our military was virtually nonexistent, and we didn't use the little troops we had effectively.

If India is still as weak as it was in 1962, why the hell haven't the Chinese attacked yet??

Do u think the Indian Army is ill equipped even now as they were in 1962..
u can't back stab now,it was 1962 but now we are in 2010...

can you tell me when last artalry gun purchased for indian army do you know how shrtage we are facing

we have shaortage of wepaons ,fighter planes , officer, etc

nothing change till now the same condition

we are in 2010

history 101, india invaded us first and then got punched on face.

If India is still as weak as it was in 1962, why the hell haven't the Chinese attacked yet??

1. india is far weeker than the one in 1962. as already explained many times, in terms of economy, technology and infrastructure, india in 1962 is comparable to China in 1962. like said many times, in 1962, you can build a machine gun, we can build a machine gun, you have some tanks, we have some tanks.

the same can no longer said any more.

in 2010, you bought some russian fighters, we built some fighters.
you are buying shitty T-90, which is basically a joke, we are building Type-99a2 in mess production.

we have anti satellite weapons, we have mid course anti-ICBM weapons. when you even couldn't afford to have an ICBM.

if you want to look the industry, let me just give you a damn simple example:

we can build a complete computer using Chinese made components, disk, cpu, motherboard, chipset, all designed and made in China. they are not as faster as Intel/Amd machines, but they are faster enough for 90% application. what you have? a fake IT industry which even couldn't afford to design a processor.

2. your ignorance is beyond imagination.

if we don't attack you, it means:
(i): you don't deserve our missiles. because there is nothing valuable in your nation which is in general a dump site.
(ii): we have better approach to eventually conquer you as a nation.

we Chinese concluded this 2600 years ago when your people are still swinging on trees eating raw beef.

是故百戰百勝,非善之善者也;不戰而屈人之兵,善之善者也。

Therefore one hundred victories in one hundred battles is not the most skillful. Seizing the enemy without fighting is the most skillful.

Actually, 2600 years ago, India had a very advanced society in every respect, while Chinese were inventing new torture methods, which they are famous for even today.

And your other points - all your delusion about India being sooo weak. Had there been even an element of truth your brutal communist regime would have taken Arunachal long back. The fact that they keep crying for it, but still haven't made any tangible move to take it points to:

1) You are deluded to talk about India being a 'dump site of no interest', OR your communist bosses are deluded, else they wouldn't have cried for decades about Arunachal.

2) You are either too cowardly, or not really as powerful as you think. Keep waiting, the 'four times' gap is on track to narrowing down. Soon there won't be any significant difference, and then wonder what you will do? Won't even be able to indulge in mental masturbation on forums like this?!

STAB BACK STAB BACK !!! GGRRRRRR!!! WE STRONG!!!

But honestly India hasn't learned any of the crucial lessons of 1962.

Actually India has learnt. That's why apart from this occasional rants and minor tensions there isn't much animosity at the military level..
On the other hand, India acquiring nuclear capabilities has certainly made China more cautious.

I don't know what the real story behind 1962 is but it is widely believed Nehru was over confident after defeating the Portuguese at Goa and wanted to try China next. His arrogance paid the price.

You seem to be a very knowledgeable person... :) LOL Why don't you become the Army chief. :) Kid can you ever get over your leftist mind. Unless you are associated to the defense forces you will not understand what you meant.

Hello stupid,do u even have an idea what was forward policy,India did not launched an invasion on China according to the so called forward policy,it was just forward patrolling of our posts,it was after that u launched the invasion

:blah::blah::blah:

By this definition,U.S had by far plundered China,a simple reason why u r ahead now, because China initiated its economic reformation policies almost 3 decade ahead of India, but because u r a kindergarden kid it is of no use to teach u about economics

Which tanks and fighters,J-10 and t-99,u call that weapon's,we call them joke,we would have also entered mass production if our criteria was also as down as ur's

Now about Russian military industrial complex, they r almost 3 decades ahead of u,so unkindly rethink before challenging them

We dont need ICBM's,r u that much fool to understand that,a simple irbm is required for China,we dont need to invest in costly ICBM's for china, china is not worth that much

Which crap computers r u talking about,ur cheap products even dont last a year, hey dont even think about comparison with Intel, first try to make a good chipset that can atleast last 1 yr

1.But u deserve our missiles as ur imaginary bubble have many thing to get destructed,so think thrice before arriving with that comments

2.My arse with ur approach,if that was so u had already conquered the entire India back in 1962.

If we were eating raw beef 2600 yrs ago,u know what were u people eating,Raw dogs

BUT it does matter that people in India know the truth. It still boggles the mind, how the majority of Indians believe Nehru's lies (and proudly proclaims it as fact). This set of misinformed belief what is holding up the negotiations of disputed territories.

When everyone in India believes that China was the aggressor and "back stabber"in 1962, no Indian politician will have enough political capital to start negotiations without being shouted down at home. and so... the dispute sits, there to fester and threaten peace.

well i believe China as a aggressor in 1962,but not as back stabber, the war was fought front to front, eye to eye,and we lost it thats it

it's not about political will of Indian politician's,its about the apprehension of India politician's,if we were to enter the negotiation's for arunachal, which will only end if we cede arunachal, which is very much unacceptable,so if u want peace without ur hands on our territory u r welcome

Proves my point.

but you are welcome to argue the case for China being the aggressor.

Apart from the vague mention of 1962, the Indian history book do not have much info about the war. The accounts are mostly from some history experts and people from that time. China being called the "The Back stabber" is mostly imagined by people why try to connect dots to their convenience and pride. This story I believe is not official.
In fact it is believed that India had a lot to lose in the war as the fertile lands were closer to the border while the Chinese side has just uninhabitable mountains. But the Chinese withdrew the troops and decided not to march further which surprised even the Indians.

The dispute just needs to be settled and ASAP, but if the GoI avoids telling the populace what happened, it is guilty by omission, as it allows the hacks out there to perpetuate the version of events that will lead to future animosity and war.

A good first step would be to de-classify the Henderson Brooks-Bhagat report. Which the GoI has repeated declined to do

The Henderson Brooks-Bhagat report, also referred to as the Henderson Brooks report, is the report of an analysis (Operations Review) of the Sino-Indian War of 1962. Its authors are officers of the Indian armed forces. They are Lieutenant-General Henderson Brooks and Brigadier P S Bhagat, commandant of the Indian Military Academy at the time.
The report continues to be classified by the Indian Government, as of October 2006[1]. In April 2010, India's Defence Minister A.K. Antony told Parliament that the report could not be declassified because its contents “are not only extremely sensitive but are of current operational value." [2]

The report is said to be openly critical of the Indian political and military structure of the time, as well as of the execution of operations.

Author Neville Maxwell has published what he claims are summaries of the report[3]. While this has not been verified by comparisons with the (still classified) text, it has been accepted as a reasonable summary by the Indian media. Another extract of Indo-China war[4] makes interesting reading.

As of Feb 2008, MP Rajeev Chandrasekhar has requested the report to be declassified in the National Security interest, This has been declined by the defense Minster A K Antony. He has quoted that the same would not be released "considering the sensitivity of information contained in the report and its security implications"
