With all due respect, that is not the same thing as the OP is referring to. Your link is almost a decade old and involved the security regarding F-16's sensitive avionics and weapons systems, not restrictions based on Pakistan's foreign policies. The first sentence from your own quote is proof of that, i.e., there is a difference in security measures regarding the PAF's use of F-16 as opposed to restrictions based on Pakistan complying with America's foreign policy goals. The text of the congressional minutes are concerned about that security, hence, American military and civilian contractors will conduct an initial security site survey where the F-16 are to be housed with security inspections every two years after that and will ensure that in joint exercises with third party countries, that pre-approval based again, on security be obtained, etc. That is totally different than a restriction based on American disagreement with Pakistan's foreign or defence policy.

The point is that the storage and use of all F-16s in Pakistan is monitored by US personnel on site as part of the sales program, and these requirements have been in place since the planes were sold, and strengthened as needed. That is is direct response to your earlier statement "I can find no source stating that American military inspectors are stationed at any PAF bases to monitor F-16 use.".

Pakistan, as a sovereign nation, is entitled to its own foreign and defense policies, of course.

And and may we know, what source is being quoted here? Except for a laughable sole-source and a couple of Indian journalists engaging in mental masturbation most probably.

There are no new developments that change in any significant way the arrangements that were agreed upon as part of the sale years ago.

we dont need to switch bases for F-16 squadrons.....coverage throughout is pretty good, with many in sectors that directly overlook hostile or potentially hostile elements in the east

and quite frankly - in times of war i dont think such considerations will matter.....F86 Sabers were for defensive purposes and yet we used them for hostile intent, deep into enemy territory. Pattankot, Kalaikunda come to mind...

F-104 Starfighters were used to wipe out Amritsar radar (code name: "Fish-oil") midway towards the end of 1965 hostilities when Americans were demanding "cessation of hostilities"

as for the subject of "kill switch" -- a PAF pilot who was granted rare access to Turkish Air Force war rooms (even covertly listening in on joint TuAF-israeli air excercise briefings) delved into this subject briefly...i'll have to dig out the link to that interview

p.s. it's also worth mentioning -- the yanks dont need a "kill switch"......all they have to do is do what they did in 1971 war or during 1990s Pressler amendment sanctions time...cut off spare parts and requisite supplies needed to keep them operational

a very prime reason why we have diversified and are looking towards self-reliance (JF-17 Thunder)

Aren't these aircrafts part of the aid that US is giving to the Pakistan? Pakistan is getting it for free . I beleive US would definitely have a say in how their aid is utilized.

Nope... they are PAID for by Pak... unless you think US gave 5.5 billion $ for the 52s,mlu kits n weapons..
