Indians must change target now, by 2030 Mumbai has surpassed Saigon  , don't even claim surpassing Shanghai anymore it's humiliating. First get pass Saigon

. . .
so? Ask our Vietnamese friends here where they rather live Mumbai or Saigon? Even we Chinese think Vietnam is doing much better job than India.

this and that is different matter, though one must to admit standart of living and conditions in most South Asian countries Cities is very appaling and far below ASEAN standard.

Mumbai?
lmao....
A 3rd tier city in Vietnam is better.
It is even worse than Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville.

Surpassed Saigon?
Come on!
Don't embarrass Saigon, which was a pretty nice place back in 2012 when i was there...
No problem of walking on the clean streets deep at night.
People were nice, never tried to cheat you like in indian tourist sites.

To all supa powans coming to this thread, the low buildings in the photos are not slums, look not so good but definitely not slums! Clean tap water, electricity and sanitation facilities are ensured there.

ASEAN as whole, could be not rich, but well-off, and generally clean and safe.

incredible @AndrewJin , your city simply defeat Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia and PH's best cities
That so-called CTBUH (Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat) loses all credibility when i read Guiyang has only 9 and Hefei only 15 150+.
And I'm sure this chart also underestimate figures in Southeast Asian cities too. People in this region tend to brag less and don't have the passion to boast a fake overestimated number.
Cities like Saigon are way better than those so-called world-class cities some ignorant people brag about everyday.
Using tap water at the clean 15-dollar family guesthouse will not make one sick!

What an outdated database!
Let's forget about cities in Coastal China, numbers all far understated.
Look my hometown, Wuhan in Central China, only one 300m+? Only 32 150m+??
Seriously?

Too bad the site is only in Chinese.

I was also surprised to see they only report 131 skyscrapers (150m+) in Shanghai. Well never expect too much from these proclaimed "international" organization, especially when it's about China.

Of course, when it comes to China and non-west like ASEAN,
they chicken out!

actually many ASEAN cities is in property booms so there is no way they can give actual number and updating it daily or monthly at least.....

Jakarta, Saigon and Makati of Metro Manila is fine examples, just a decade ago no one mention them then suddenly they (global ranking orgs) caught off guard when found out Jakarta had more tall building than London, Los Angels or San Fransisco

the picture below is all came from Jakarta

Perhaps you are right, CTBUH.org cannot update on a timely fashion, after all property boom in China/ASEAN are real fast. Those pics are impressive! Is that Sudirman in Jakarta Pusat?

no, those are from South Jakarta, Gatot Subroto area. Central Jakarta is very exclusive for States offices building and other states owned enterprise HQ, most doesnt sport very tall building but maintain Dutch style art deco architecture builds. Hmmm i should made a new thread about Jakarta.
