QUETTA - Baloch nationalist leader and former opposition leader in Balochistan Assembly Kachkol Ali stated on Monday a human tragedy has taken place in Balochistan and the United Nations should therefore take a notice of it and make practical steps for its immediate end.
In a statement issued from Oslo, the nationalist leader stated that the genocide of the Baloch nation was continuing for the last 13 years. So far thousands of Baloch people have been killed and thousands others have disappeared.
Ali expressed deep sorrow over the attitude of world organisations, saying UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and other international organisations had closed their eyes to the Balochistan situation.
He said even now when the UN secretary general would be visiting Pakistan, his visit would have nothing to do with the human tragedy and rights violation in Balochistan, but education.
We are not against education. We want promotion of education as it is inevitable for people to know their rights but at this moment the existence of Baloch nation is at the stake, the nationalist leader went on to say.
He appealed to the UN secretary general to take notice of the genocide of Baloch nation and present this issue in the General Assembly of UN Security Council.
