UN hails Pakistan over efforts for world peace

I strongly disagree with that notion, nobody is prepared to die for money, there needs to be a superior purpose that a soldier respects and offers his life to protect. If someone promises you a lucrative sum to dance with death, I bet you wouldn't take it and neither would the soldier, they are after all, humans with feelings and families. Even if the govt tried to push the into it, they would simply rebel against the govt. There is a lot of honour attached with serving for the UN and soldiers feel proud representing their country in a foreign land. Then obviously, if you have a mess of state with failed state machinery, you need to borrow the state machinery from others to uphold order, that's just what the UN is for.
Chinese army's strength is 23lakh,US army's is 14 lakh then why don't they contribute with their human resource in adequate proportion. Does only south Asians feel the proud in serving under blue cap ??Why does we Indians,Pakistanis,Bangladeshies and Nepalese contribute almost 30% of total UN strength ???There ought to be different reason than pride and all that .If this is not outright outsourcing of jobs in hell holes then what else??

Oh bahi logo,

Why are you fighting and pointing fingers?

Each region has some strengths and they use them to earn a living while contributing something positive.

Your logic if extended to other domains could result in useless questions such as:

--- American invented IPhone. They have all the factories and experts to manufacture this phone. Then why on earth Chinese factory laborers have to toil 24 hours to produce the same phone?

************** sane answer: Chinese can do the same job with better pricing.

--- American companies can easily find millions of English speaking people in America, then why on earth Indian workers in Gurgaon have to toil day and night to provide tech / customer support.

************** sane answer: Indians can do the same job with better pricing.

It is therefore $tupid to argue against Pakistan (or India or BD) contributing to UN peace keeping missions. The answer is they can do the same job as Europeans except with better pricing.

Let's celebrate the experts from our region, even if they come from your "enemy" country ;)

peace.

I think the US doesn't do it because then the command of their soldiers would fall on the UN. And any crime they commit would also be judged by either the country they are in, or by a UN appointed Judicial committee.

You post seems to be really like a sane person than some few other PDF patriotic posters....
Of course..everything is said is right...but the diplomacy and the way international politics is happening, it does not follow a pattern....But you know ....still then i will agree with you for your such a nice post...

Cheers..

Wow.. How can something so positive get derailed so quickly by a essentially flawed discussion. Anyway's i really have to give Icarus kudos for his balanced posts. Overall this is wonderful for our military. Mashallah!

Pakistan's contribution to UN missions have been exceptional. Pak forces have set the bar pretty high for everyone else to follow.... great work!!!
