Exactly!
The addresses that were ruled out by the UN were confirmed to be either fake or possessed by public figures like Maleeha Lodhi. The remaining addresses are 'physical addresses' that actually exist, but there is nothing so far indicating that DI actually resides in any of them or owns any of them.
All it means is that the UN received Indian 'dossiers' listing certain addresses and acknowledged the receipt of said documentation. It does not mean the UN actually agrees that DI resides or owns said addresses.
So AM, what you think happen to these listed individuals and their properties which was approved to be listed by monitoring team (created under chapter VII which is binding and enforceable in nature)?
As my understanding goes, they are sanctioned and member states are expected to freeze the listed assets.
I would take it as virtual acceptance of those address to be related to Dawood by UN, unless and untill
1- India ask for delisting.
2- Pakistan or individual affected because of listing apply for delisting through ombudsman office.
The listing request is deliberated by professional before being approved. It's not merely an acknowledgement of a dossier receipt but an action is suggested in form of sanction on those addresses which as per UN is relevant.
That's half way done, need to wait if that is countered and challenged, before we can conclude.
That's my assertion, counter argument are welcome.
