Lol, so what China can pull off, every country can do it too? over 10 years ago around the 2008 Beijing Olympics China was already among the world top industrial, manufacturing and trading nations, what about today's India? You can cry about whatever rate you will grow, but you need a base, don't you?

India is already in top 5 in terms of manufacturing output, which will continue to grow faster than anything you can. Claiming that India doesn’t have a base is tofu dreg IQ level delusion .

Last I heard your GDP growth rate this quarter was less than half of 1% at 0.4% while India’s was 13.5%.

Enjoy your lockdowns as Papa Xi has decided to screw Chinese economy further :enjoy:.

I don't care about GDP number. GDP is easy to be manipulated. The real big economic power must have some commodities that are competitive in international market. Producing less competitive goods that are only sold in domestic market won't strengthen a countries economic power(e.g Soviet Union). Compared to GDP number, I care more about a country's export.

No matter how big India's GDP is, India doesn't have any product competitive in international market. We barely see anything made in India.
India is developing its industrial base and it has a large entrepreneur class. You have a very racialist delusion about certain countries which blinds you to reality. It’s only a matter of time before India becomes a massive economic player.

Superpower India is #18, behind Vietnam in export.

India joined Quad with the hope that US would move factories from China to India but US replaced Quad with AUKUS and started shifted the factories from China to Vietnam, Indonesia and Bangladesh instead.

As usual dumb Indians got egg on their face.

India's industry system was built long ago. But it doesn't have any competitive strength. This is the reason why India refused to join in RCEP. Indian government is corrupt, incompetent and short sighted. Indians are superstitious and inefficient. How can a country like this could possibly become a big economic power?

For economic power, quality is more important than quantity. S.Korea is a much bigger economy than India in this respect.

See below video. Indians cheered for their government robbing Chinese investments in India. So far Indians and their government don't have the mindset needed to become a real big economy power.

Wonder how’s Vietnam’s GDP roughly equal to its “exports”.

They have a fast growing economy alright, but it only benefits the top 1% of their country and not the average citizen. The wealth doesn't trickle down.
The top 1% have to keep investing money into new businesses and economic activities to stay into the top 1% club. If they don’t their share prices will fall and they’ll become roadpati from crorepati. And the one who benefits is the common man, its true everywhere where there’s a strong private sector.

In global trade, Hong kong has 6 million people, can beat India's 1.4 billion people hands down.

Hong Kong is just an extension of China, exporting Chinese goods via hong kong doesn’t make any difference to us.

I think it is not correct to say Indian century, ASEAN population is just 600 million people, compared to India with 1.4 billion people, less than half of India but our total GDP is still higher than India GDP.

I would say, just let China compete with USA. India competitor is basically ASEAN

ASEAN states are rich in natural resources on per captia basis compared to India and South Asian countries.
Can ASEAN rival India in software sector ? A lot of ASEAN states are backward - Myanmar, Cambodia, Philippines, parts of Indonesia
