UAE TO CONSTRUCT OIL REFINERY IN KPK

UAE has to be appreciated for its work in Pakistan. Even in FATA they have supported the building of a road that connects it to the rest of the country. It also gives employment to million+ of us. We should not get involved in their wars but we are definately benefiting from some of their work in Pakistan. Investing in projects is much better than giving money to the corrupt government, which goes in their pockets.

You can call me “Cynical” but to me it appears that in Pakistan my compatriots either thrive on the glorious achievements of the past Muslims on imagined riches of the future such as Thar coal or the $500-billion in Reko diq gold. It is beside the point that great acts during the Middle Age were in the Muslim lands a few thousand miles away from Pakistan.

It is about time every one realised that what matters is neither the past nor the future but ‘TODAY’ and that any potential mineral wealth has zero benefit to us until it is dug out of the ground.

and then again we heard about UAE investing Pakistan refiner y in 2008!

All of the above was 10 years ago. Where is the refinery?

The news was about KPK refinery first published in Dec 11, 2015. It is now 2 years old but I have not come across mention of any such project in the international oil publications. I have to see it to believe it.
