The UAE on Friday ruled out dialogue with Iran, saying interference by Tehran and Turkey is destablising the region.

“It is unlikely we will have a dialogue with Iran in light of them supplying missiles to Al Houthis (in Yemen) to launch attacks on Saudi Arabia,” Dr Anwar Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, said.


Dr Gargash made these remarks during a discussion on ‘Middle East in Turmoil: Achieving Lasting Stability’ at the annual Globsec forum in Bratislava.

Tehran is much weaker than in 2014 and 2015 because of the economic problems, following the reinstatement of US sanctions, Dr Gargash said.

He said Iran has a record of using deception in its quest to build a nuclear bomb.


Dr Gargash stressed the need to stop Turkish and Iranian meddling in the region and to strengthen the Arab unity. “There is a Turkish-led organisation funded by Qatar, which is the Muslim Brotherhood, an alliance controlled by Iran, Syrian President Bashar Al Assad, Hezbollah and Iraqi groups,” the minister said.

There is a need to strengthen the regional alliance, he said, referring to Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain and Egypt, expressing his wish to include the rest of the Arab neighbours, Dr Gargash said."

Will be bad for all. We need to solve issues through dialogue. Iran is no different than KSA when it comes to meddling into the affairs of its neighbours and promoting its ideology. So both are playing dirty games and we should either be neutral or play an active role as the mediators to forge an agreement between the two sides.

All major and minor powers in ME are interfering in domestic affairs of whatever countries they can. Don't single out Iran or Saudis. Qatar, UAE, Israel, Egypt and Turkey are no exceptions.

On topic, UAE minister can suck it big time. We do whatever we want to do. Someone should tell Emiratis that them playing their dirty games in Yemen, Libya, Qatar and other places is not unnoticed. But they are what they are: an inflated paper tiger trying to showoff its power through money and supporting mercenaries around the world. Then the bastards have the audacity to talk about interference in others affairs. They are no different than Qatar, only a bit bigger in size.

Well there are two ways...peaceful dialogues based on mutual respect and honouring each other's sovereignty or fight a war, kill each other and let the enemy get stronger and make each other weak.

"Arab unity" is as dead as "ummah unity"(PDF has certified this already). Arab unity has been dead for a while,probably most likely because of differing priorities and perspectives by member nations. Sudan, Egypt primarily chase cash.lol. There is no arab unity, and Iran and Turkey have already gotten in. If Turkey and Iran combine, GCC is FINISHED, No Question about it.Iran has proved so "problematic"for GCC they had to call in US and Israel to help solve the problem. America and Israel havent been able to solve it, so if Turkey were to join in with Iran, arab world will give in/collapse. Iran has been quite succesful in disarming the GCC, literally. Any arab country that can fight Iran is usually broke, and those that have money, dont have enough willpower or men to fight. Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Lebanon arent fully on the Arab side anymore. US and Iran play the same game- Men and Guns(Robert Baer said this, and i agree).
