to me Iranian behaviour in reporting this, and the wahabi/American reactions are more consistent with some sort of Iranian action. UAE has been asking for it for a while. Iran has made threats about not letting anyone export in the straight of hormuz incase IRan wasn't allowed..

It was fake news. But later it was reported that there was some sabotage.

Apparently Iranians planned some explosions, but it went wrong. Yet their media reported it and they compromised themselves.

it didn't went wrong, they are trying to cover up so keep the balance in oil market.

Btw,Trump made the situation worse with the oil sanctions and withdrawing from the deal. The original deal was already devastating for Iran and some sanctions still remained. So the US administration will be partially blamed and Iranian moves partially justified in international community if conflict breaks out.

The explosion was in the middle of the sea. Ether some small explosive device attached or some unmanned ship with explosive device attacked the ship.

Now we have two questions:

1) How is possible that Iranian media was first to report about this small explosions in the middle of the sea?
2) Why Iranian media largely exaggerated the results of this explosions?

The answer is simple:

1) It was made by Iran or its terrorist proxies.
2) They failed and result of the sabotage was much much smaller than they expected.
