Great but still hesitating. What do you think of the GCC reproachment to Iraq recently?
All in all it's a good step in the right direction.

What about maintenance work along the way? Will that be done in Iraq or will the US provide logistic support at all times? Also how many Iraqi pilots are ongoing training in the US and for how long? You have an idea? If all of those 36 F-16's are due to arrive before the end of 2015 then they will be back before this happens? Or will more pilots be trained in the US along the way as the orders rise and thus need for more pilots?
They are being offered to Iraq free of charge, like the 300 vehicles Kuwait supplied to Iraq free of charge. Yet people here keep saying "Junk", they are the most advanced Mirages in the world, better than the ones the french are flying even. Or is it dirty Gulf Arab stuff, yuck.
Maintenance is in Al Asad air base by both Iraqi and experienced American crews ( supervising and for the complex tasks ) but that air base is often struck with mortars making it unsafe. Recently an article stated how many were training but forgot where I got it from, no idea anymore. Some pilots can already fly but with the coalition providing air support there's no rush.

So they were offered for free? What's with the "bitching" then? That's quite a nice gesture from an Arab country to another Arab country to say the least. Similar to Kuwait's gesture.
No idea how he knows they're for free, doesn't say that in the article. I think they should buy all 68 Mirages from the UAE. UAE isn't in a hurry for weaponry, they can buy modern aircraft instead which take time to build and we'll have precision strike capability. Old Su-25's have proven useful so the more modern Mirages will be much better.
The Arabic source I read states that it is a Gift. GCC are being extra generous to Iraqi despite Iraq being untrustworthy at the moment, maybe to show goodwill to the Iraqi people, but the Iraqi government has been nothing but an Iranian colony recently, if Iraq can prove to be a reliable ally, and not stab us in the back again. Then we should start the help train and get it going. Many news articles in Arabic named it "Congratulations to the Iranian Air Force the new Fighters", and quite honestly, I can't blame them.
Looool all we think of is trouble and bothering to the others no use human.I hope we do every thing to get hands on these babies....M 2000-9 in hands of PAF's pilots....They will be damn lethal and quite a headache for our neighbour...
Yes,yes...The world is at peace and we are destroying it...So evil of us...Looool all we think of is trouble and bothering to the others no use human.
