The UAE-India economic, political and cultural ties are in their golden era with bilateral trade and investments continuing to grow ever year, senior officials of the two countries said in Dubai on Friday.

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of State for Tolerance, commended the bilateral ties of trust and friendship that exist between the two countries. He also highlighted the vital role of sustainable knowledge-based economy, innovation and dialogue in achieving peace and human progress.

Navdeep Suri, India's ambassador to the UAE, said the two countries' growing ties are reflected in many ways such as awarding of Sheikh Zayed Award to Indian prime minister Narendra Modi and UAE's inviting India's foreign minister Sushma Swaraj to address the Organisation of Islamic Countries conference in Abu Dhabi recently.

The ambassador also hailed the role of Abu Dhabi in establishing the Hindu temple in the UAE.

"The manner in which the government of UAE provided the land and facilitated the clearance of various architectural plans is quite remarkable," he said while addressing conference in Dubai on Friday. He said the temple will serve all Indian communities because it has been designed with a broad vision, hence it is located in the middle of Dubai and Abu Dhabi to serve larger community.

Vipul, consul general of India in Dubai, on Friday, said bilateral economic, political and cultural ties between the UAE and India have been strengthening over the last few years with UAE's investment into India crossing $10 billion.

"UAE-India trade continues to be very high. More than $10-billion investment has gone from the UAE to India. Over the last few years, there has been a high-level ministerial visits happening between the two countries on a monthly basis. These are not just formal visits but they have resulted in UAE-India relationship progressing in every area," he added.

"Whether it is food processing, space or defence industries, the two countries are working together and making millennium strides," Vipul said while addressing the 37th annual conference of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) - Dubai Chapter.

The annual conference was held under the title of "Accelerating Millennium Strides - transforming by power of knowledge." Nearly 2,000 members of the ICAI - Dubai Chapter - attended the annual conference. The other speakers who addressed the conference were Anshula Kant, managing director, State Bank of India; Osman Sultan, CEO, Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Co. (du); Mahmood bangara, chairman, ICAI (Dubai Chpater); Anish Mehta, vice-chairman of ICAI's Dubai Chapter; and Ashish Vidyarthi, Indian film actor and motivational speaker. Vipul noted that Indi has been at forefront of global growth as it is the fastest growing economy in the world.

"We are taking so many people out of poverty every year. India is making millennium strides in the area of culture, science and technology and a host of other sectors. And same goes for the UAE. The focus of UAE has also been on tolerance, happiness and technology. And the UAE shows how can people work and live in harmony in a multicultural society," Vipul added. - waheedabbas@khaleejtimes.com

. . . . .
Yep, don't forget they also have great ties with Israel.

Exactly! I don't support our ties with Israel at all. But isn't it amazing how they're keeping them all together? We couldn't keep Saudis happy while keeping ties with Iran while couldn't satisfy Iranians while boosting ties with Saudis. Diplomacy is something Baniyas get in Blood. But it is very important in today's world where ties aren't based on religion but trade and economy which we totally lack to understand.

Yes that's the million dollar question how do they juggle Iran, the Gulf and Israel. The bottom line is they don't give a $hit what nations think, it's high time Pakistan does the same.

.
Congratulations to India ... IMO since long there ties are in golden era and everyone knows ... now the ties should be in platinum or diamond era.
Remember blood is always thicker than water ... if people remember a hindu Indian employee celebrating New-Zealand incident ... he was the one kicked-out and black listed for life to enter in UAE.

Yes, the question is valid. The problem is that we don't keep things in a row. Indian even have great Military ties with Israel which I fail to understand how they keep Iran calm on that. While being one of the biggest business partner with Iran, how they keep Gulf calm. This is possible, but we couldn't learn. Most of the countries do the same. Azeris let's say. They've great relations with both Iran and Israel. Why we're the only ones with diplomatic Problems? Turks, being hostile to Russians in Syria, at the same time destroying their Jet, getting their pilot mutilated by Turkmen proxy. They're still enjoying great relations with Russia.

I think the mistake of ‘brotherly love’ has caused these problems for Pakistan. When you turn a blind eye or avoid upsetting these countries they take advantage of it.

When you look at Azerbaijan, India they have no talk of ‘brotherly love’ and it is just trade and economics.

Pakistan needs to have a nationalist mindset come out of this, dabbling in religion internationally will always have one of these countries lashing out.

Religious co-operation should be through only the OIC or cultural linkages.

I partially agree with you except the Nationalist mindset. It can also be down while keeping religious codes of ruling a State along.

You are counting too much on these news...When Iran,UAE and Sa are required to choose betweeb India and Pakistan they will choose you..

The answer lies to your question...If you convert your economy to a better shape, you will get more benifit from them..

Iranian economy sucks already. It's not entirely based on that.

Exactly...that is why they need to allign with India in trade and business so that their market is not taken away by Gulf....

Remember...all these countries still support your stand on Kashmir issue..So in that sense they are more cliser to you than India..

mashallah ummah is working.

When it comes to aid, hypocrites change to Umma mode!
Words of Shahriar A$$ (official of IK regime) to the President of Islamic University;
''Saudi resources belong to Umma''!
''We (Pakistan) are very angry with Saudi Arabia''

Do we all not remember the parliamentary lies of Faisal Raza Abidi, Raza Rabban and now ladies and gentlemen we have new team of haters.

Basically it's the slaves of terrorist IRGC in Pakistan, who are helping India win more jobs and investment from GCC.
This is why i say, Pakistan can never be able to account the loss, this (traitor) mafia in Pakistan has caused to Pakistan.

Our ministers and foreign office shall not forget that GCC is one unit, if Pakistani parliamentarians and senators would make speeches against Saudi Arabia, it will be considered as against all the GCC.
