UAE delegation discusses cooperation in defense industry with Egypt

The Egyptian Minister of Military Production receives Major General Al Balushi and the UAE delegation


Major General Ishaq Saleh Al Baloushi, Head of the Executive Directorate of Industries and Development of Defense Capabilities at the UAE Ministry of Defense, discussed ways of joint cooperation with the Egyptian Minister of State for Military Production Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al-Asar.

Al Baloushi, who is visiting Egypt at the head of a high level Emirati delegation, expressed the UAE's aspiration to cooperate with the Egyptian Ministry of Military Production, praising the great potential possessed by the Ministry of Military Production and its role in providing the requirements of the Egyptian armed forces. He also stressed the importance of the role played by Egypt in confronting extremism and terrorism in the region.

He pointed out that the UAE is focusing on the development of all military fields in order to cope with the huge development in this strategic sector in order to meet the security challenges and enhance its capabilities to deter anyone trying to harm its security and its people. The UAE has the technological potential and outstanding scientific expertise.

UAE: Regional power in defense industries

For his part, Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al-Assar, Minister of State for Military Production of Egypt, stressed the interest of the Ministry in cooperation with the UAE side in the exchange of expertise, manufacturing technology and technical information in the various fields of industrialization between the two sides.

During the meeting, Al-Assar reviewed the manufacturing, technological and human resources available to companies and units of the Ministry of Military Production and the most important projects carried out by the Ministry and its effective contribution to the development of the Egyptian national economy.

He explained that the main role of the ministry is to meet the needs of the armed forces and the security services of the Egyptian state. The surplus of its productive capacities is also used in the manufacture of various civil products and to contribute to the implementation of national projects and development projects in cooperation with the various authorities in Egypt.

At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed to exchange visits between them to learn about the manufacturing and technological potential of both parties on the ground and to open up new fields of joint cooperation between the UAE and Egypt.
