Interesting watch. UAE pilots with their F-16 block 60s taking on American F-16s/F-15s and even defeating them in low-level engagements (Higher/tougher level engagements' results aren't shown)...

American Air Force general commending UAE pilots and their performance in the end of the exercises...

Many of the UAE pilots talk in English as if they were Americans....No accent at all.

From what I've seen in reality on the ground, I can only say that the UAEAF has made a remarkable progress both in terms of the pilots' training program, the use of upper lethal equipments.

We do run several drills annually .

I heard they were facing pillots' shortage?

Any idea about that?

How many full-fledge pilots they have? Do they have enough TOP pilots to fly 80 F-16 Blk 60s? There must be atleast 160 experienced and top of the line pilots for 80 F-16 block 60s...

It'd be interesting to see UAE F-16 blk 60s vs PAF F-16 blk 52s+ ....then things will become clearer as to where UAEAF stands..but I don't think thats ever gonna happen...

Now they have plenty of pilots. And some are a great bunch.

It's not new, I watched it about probably 2 years ago. It certainly bursts some Pakistani fan boys bubbles who think Arabs can't even wipe their Ar$e$ unless Pakistani's show them how.

UAE have the most advanced F-16 and funds to provide top notch training to their pilots. Majority of the UAE pilots taking part looked very young compared to the ones we send.

That has to do with replacing leadership and fast. Essentially, similar policies of indigenous promotion except in terms of man power.
AM asghar khan was I believe 35 or maybe 38 when he took command of the PAF.
As a force size grows, so does the need to keep promotions less.

It is a ancient European concept of having older generals and keeping power in the hands of family ties. However, it also is an indicator of force concepts; US officers vary in age and some are pretty old, but many of their enlisted are as capable as officers of PA in terms of equipment and combat command capability.

May be we need to segregate administration branch from the fighting branch, which should be the younger generation. Seniors experience can be utilised in research, policy, doctrine development, training, etc.

Most of their F-16 IPs used to be Americans (contracted Lockheed Martin instructor pilots at Abu Dhabi, and Arizona ANG instructor pilots at Tucson) but now they have a lot of their own people as instructors so they're picking up their game pretty well.

Everyone goes through teething pains, even PAF start was thanks to Polish pilots.
