It wouldn’t be inaccurate to say that poverty is one of the factors in the advent of people joining extremist groups or even violent groups. How many, if any, employed and somewhat financially stable people would leave their structured lives to join groups of people that senselessly kill others? Part of establishing prolonged stability and security in Pakistan requires maximum effort to raise the standard of living – more specifically, improving the level of education, employment opportunities, and business and entrepreneurship opportunities.

Many times, the Pakistani perception has been that the U.S. is “using” Pakistan and has no genuine concern for the welfare of economic growth of the country. This assumption is not true; what people fail to realize is that an economically strong and stable nation is closely tied to a safe and peaceful nation in terms of security. We live in a globalized world and therefore security and stability in Pakistan is part of a bigger equation of global security and stability.

Unfortunately most of the joint efforts that we have made, and are still conducting, in the field of economic, academic and social prosperity receives very little coverage and recognition. Also, an unfortunate characteristic of us human beings is that we tend to forget the hundreds of “positive actions” and remember the one, or a couple, unintended “negative” ones.

Below is a link highlighting some of the recent joint efforts made by U.S. and Pakistani leadership to build a stronger bi-lateral relationship through increasing bilateral trade (Mangoes have already made its way to U.S. markets!) , and U.S. investment in Pakistan; which would in turn increase employment, entrepreneurship opportunities, and alleviate some of the hardships Pakistan is facing.
These kinds of bilateral efforts create stronger interdependency and partnership in the long run.

Flawed reasoning. What about Osama Bin Laden?

I am not dismissing those people who are ideologically motivated. Needless to say yes there are those, but we have to speak statistically.

agree with OP, in fact I was just having this discussion with some people earlier today, and not just in Pakistan but all through the region. If we could just raise people's standards of living, and they do need some serious raising around these parts. People will have way less to rage about and we can all be a bit more civil.

just look at the US, liberals and conservatives probably have a lot more to disagree about than the shia/sunnis of the world but compared to the poor part of the world, they all live a relatively cushy life so no one's chopping the other's head off :sarcastic:

Pakistanis has negative perception about USA and it is flawed? I think it is you who is living in fools paradise. Let me give you simple analogy, if Pakistan have conducted false flag operation, blamed Mexico, then invaded Mexico. What would have been the result keeping into consideration millions of Latinos already living in USA? Millions of Latino refugees would had infiltrated USA creating mayhem and chaos in border areas. Add insult on wounds, Pakistan would sent black water operatives, and helped USA enemies Russia and China to destabilize USA in every possible means.

Now under this circumstances if Pakistan would have given 1 trillion $ aid to USA what would Yankee population thought about Pakistan?

Your problem is that you try to solve every problem keeping your holiness intact. Tell me what you guys do with 600 billion $ CIA budget? Certainly bed of roses isnt in your menu isnt it?

Dont teach us what is wrong and what is right. Your frustration is your failure of your objectives in Afghanistan. The type of Mayhem you created in Iraq, Syria and Libya is the living testament of your state of affairs.

Pakistani leftists and Islamists always had issues with USA.

that forker is dead and dispensed with.

Are you related to him by any chance that you keep on bringing him up?

Read my post again. What did you give me a negative rating for ? Osama belonged to a rich family. OP had mentioned "if any". I was simply pointing an exception.

Unfortunately pur Army and Politicians are hypocrites (along with most of our Awaaam). On our face, they tell us USA is our enemy, CIA is funding Taliban.. yet they collaborate with CIA to impose war on Taliban!

Our Awaam say they hate USA, yet will run to the US if offered a free visa!!

On subject, you (USA) can further stengthen ties by ending your hypocrisy as well :) I am sure you know what I mean

The biggest problem and hurdle between Pak and Usa relationship is usa itself, Usa wont trust us, despite countless sacrifices that we have made in war on terror still they calls us terrorists. Many Pakistanis along with my uncle came back to Pakistan after 9/11 solely because the treatment of their general public towards Pakistanis. Recently their pentagon declared Pakistan as a terrorists state. Their drones are also a factor for such hatred coz they are killing our civilians, and the way they are giving free space to indians in afghanistan is also a matter of concern for us. Further more USA has a bad habit of meddling into our internal matters. Their efforts to denuclearize Pakistan is also reason why we hate them. And the list goes on................

Once we use to be best buddies but now thanks to USA policies, We have come into the position where developing close ties between these two countries is impossible. Usa has now lost its biggest ally Pakistan forever...............................................................

.
There is nothing common between USA and Pakistan. We should look towards east like Japan and Korea. The world certainly doesnt end with Yankeez. This is the irony of our bureaucracy and some-what in army. The world has grown up and there are more factors to succeed and gain strength than Yankee land.

Truth hurts. Unemployed poor youth may be flagbearers of terror, but who gives them money for guns and bombs? If you don't attack sources of terror funding, you will fail. Thats all. Rather than attacking these sources, you can opt to chase these Chimeras.
