Israeli logistical support for Iran during the Iran–Iraq War (1980–88)[edit]
Main article: Israeli support for Iran during the Iran–Iraq war
Israel sold Iran US$75 million worth of arms from stocks of Israel Military Industries, Israel Aircraft Industries and Israel Defense Forces stockpiles, in their Operation Seashell in 1981.[25] Material included 150 M-40 antitank guns with 24,000 shells for each gun, spare parts for tank and aircraft engines, 106 mm, 130 mm, 203 mm and 175 mm shells and TOW missiles. This material was transported first by air by Argentine airline Transporte Aéreo Rioplatense and then by ship. The same year Israel provided active military support against Iraq by destroying the Osirak nuclear reactor near Baghdad, which the Iranians themselves had previously targeted, but the doctrine established by the attack would increase potential conflict in future years.

Arms sales to Iran that totaled an estimated $500 million from 1981 to 1983 according to the Jafe Institute for Strategic Studies at Tel Aviv University. Most of it was paid for by Iranian oil delivered to Israel. "According to Ahmad Haidari, "an Iranian arms dealer working for the Khomeini government, roughly 80% of the weaponry bought by Tehran" immediately after the onset of the war originated in Israel.[26]

An Iranian stamp issued in memory of Suleiman Khater, who perpetuated the Ras Burqa massacre against Israeli tourists in 1985.
According to Mark Phythian, the fact "that the Iranian air force could function at all" after Iraq's initial attack and "was able to undertake a number of sorties over Baghdad and strike at strategic installations" was "at least partly due to the decision of the Reagan administration to allow Israel to channel arms of US origin to Iran to prevent an easy and early Iraqi victory."[27]

Despite all the speeches of Iranian leaders and the denunciation of Israel at Friday prayers, there were never less than around one hundred Israeli advisers and technicians in Iran at any time throughout the war, living in a carefully guarded and secluded camp just north of Tehran, where they remained even after the ceasefire.[28]

Israel's support was "crucial" to keeping Iran's air force flying against Iraq. Israeli sales also included spare parts for U.S.-made F-4 Phantom jets. Newsweek also reported that after an Iranian defector landed his F-4 Phantom jet in Saudi Arabia in 1984, intelligence experts determined that many of its parts had originally been sold to Israel, and had then been re-exported to Tehran in violation of U.S. law.[29] Ariel Sharon believed it was important to "leave a small window open" to the possibility of good relations with Iran in the future.[30]
Iran delivered all those weapons from "Argentina". saddam was a big threat for israel because it had nuclear reactors and it could use nukes against Iran or israel so israel was afraid and perhaps helped Iran for it's own security.

Yet, Israel bombed those in 81, in operation opera

Sometimes 'enemy of your enemy' can be your associate but during a short period.
Nice to know that we've been your enemy for 30 years, while supplying you with weapons and more

They were very few and limited... Iran had bought tens of American fighters during shah era. Meanwhile the article that you have put is too exaggeration and not credible.

Israels contribution to irans war effort was paid for with iranian oil,it certainly wasnt given for free, israel did very, very well out of it,not to mention that a lot of what it supplied either came directly from the us or was originally from us stocks given to israel for free or stocks captured from the plo in lebanon,in addition the israelis may have thought they could try and regain some of the influence they had lost when pahlavi was overthrown. Many would say that israel was cynically trying to take advantage of the whole situation so as to try and profit economically and politically from it.

There have been plenty of occasions where enemies may have had limited collaboration in pursuit of similar goals, probably one of the most well known would be the soviet/nazi pact to carve up poland but this did not mean that they were friends or allies, they were not they were bitter ideological enemies and a temporary truce of mutual convenience did not change that, the soviets for their part were willing to work with the west to defeat hitler when he turned on them but that did not mean that it was anything other than an alliance of convenience. The simple fact of the matter was that at that point in time israel was far less of a threat than saddam,at that same point in time saddam literally had the support of most of the world while iran had literally less than a handful of allies so I imagine iran was happy to get whatever it could wherever it could from whoever it could.

So what Iran bombed it in 80 and if necessary we would have bombed it again.
You bombed it not from your love of Iran , you did it for yourself .

Cause iranians didn't burn U.S flags only few days ago and called death to america

There was an agreement between Iran and 5+1 countries on nuclear issue that has got effective since October 2015 and Iran has adhere and complied with the nuclear deal compeleatly aka JCPOA ... for example :

Iran has reduced its total number of installed centrifuges from more than 19,000 to 6,104 first-generation centrifuges.
Iran's removed and disabled the core of the partially completed heavy-water reactor at Arak.
and reduced the country’s stockpile of uranium enriched to reactor grade (3.67 percent uranium-235) to 300 kilograms.

and sale of airliners was a part of the deal that should be implemented asasp ....

“…I would remind you that under the JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action - a lasting nuclear deal between Iran and world powers) we issued a statement of licensing policy that allowed for case-by-case licensing of individuals and entities seeking to export, re-export, sell, lease, or transfer to Iran commercial passenger aircraft and associated parts and services exclusively for commercial passenger aviation,” Kirby said at a press briefing on Tuesday, the official website of US Department of State reported.
And on the burning flag, nuclear deal doesn't mean we've become friend with the US , actually Iranians consider nuclear issue as a sign of American enmity towards Iranian as a pretext to put pressure on Iran ..
Furthermore the negotiations and agreement was only meant to solve nuclear issue whilst solving other issues were postponed aftermath of the deal to see how the other side is gonna implement the agreement (as confidence-building measure) and if it works out well then hallelujah other issues would be talked out too .... so far Americans failed to comply.

You people are still dreaming on rewriting the history, don't you?!
these baseless lies are only good for young Wahhabi idiots who haven't studied the history of middle east.

these fabrications have one purpose, to give an excuse to regional dictatorships for having open and hidden relations with Israel, and weakening the Iranian popularity between the Muslim nations.
after revolution Iran and it's leader became the most popular country among the Muslims and was openly inviting the Muslims against the Israel, so as the only way for Israel's survival, a fake leader was needed to misdirect the potential of Muslim nations. This fake leader was nobody but Iraq's dictator, Saddam Hussein.
this way Israel bombarded the Iraq's nuclear reactor (while Iraq didn't respond), but the reactor which was already bombarded and disabled by Iranian. Israelis passed through saudi arabia airspace, the same saudi arabia, which gave $30bn to Iraq.

during the time which you claim you were helping us, Iran was openly arming and training armed resistance groups in Lebanon and Palestine and that's why Israel kidnapped four Iranian commanders (diplomats) in Lebanon, or maybe you think it was to increase your diplomatic relations with Iran! we were sanctioned during that war and whatever weapons that we bought was through smugglers with multiplied prices and that's why whoever that was caught by Israel or U.S was punished.

during the Iran-Iraq war, the whole world were supporting the Iraqi dictator with latest weapons, from Ballistic missiles, Tanks and fighter jets, to chemical weapons. U.S was even providing the Iraqis with Satellites information to increase the accuracy and affect of those chemical attacks, Iran destroyed a great part of Iraq army during the liberation of khorramshahr in 1982, and if it wasn't because of ultimate financial, arms and unit supports, Iraq couldn't even start that war, let alone surviving for 8 years. we managed to capture soldiers from 18 different countries in that war.

if you wanna know about the strategic cooperation between Israel and Iraq, you should study the memory of Saddam's double Michael Ramadan, about secret Israel embassy in Baghdad and training the Iraq's intelligent forces by Mossad. yes, the reality is quite opposite to what you Zionists like to advertise, Israeli advisers were present in that war, but they were in the opposite side serving the Iraqis.

If all Iranians think like you, then Iran Will keep being isolated and under sanctions for far longer and its youth suffering as a result while immigrating to the west in droves. Fortunately some of your leaders have finally understood this and are not that delusional, thus they striked a deal with western powers. Soon you people, will be getting some shiny new toys from Europe's Airbus, as a start. Good start and stop ranting. so your aerospace industry can finally kick off and catch up with that if your neighbours.
If even China and Russia who are centuries ahead of Iran in almost all fields cant do without trading, cooperating with the West what makes you think a backward looking mullah regime can?:hitwall:
You people should stop your delusions, empty rants and start thinking rationally/pragmatically. :bounce:

We are delusional about what?
